Intense mystery series begins here

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this title whole-heartedly. I have not been a huge fan of mysteries, but Steven James weaves a story like a master. I am glued to my player every moment of this story. When I have to stop listening, I can't wait to get back to it,

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

If audio-books had pages, this would be a real page turner. Never knowing exactly what twist will come next. I can't get enough Patrick Bowers. His insight into the mind of criminals is amazing.

Which character – as performed by Richard Ferrone – was your favorite?

I really like they attitude he gives to Tessa, Patrick Bowers' step-daughter. As the father of a teen-age girl, he somehow nails the inflections and attitude amazingly well.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Some times the game hinges on the smallest piece

Any additional comments?

The one drawback I found in this audiobook is that Richard Ferrone sounds too old for the character of Patrick Bowers as he is described in the book. This really threw me for about the first hour or two of listening...then the story just got a hold of me and I forgot the small complaint.

Master for storytelling, captures you from page 1

Steven James storytelling leaves you looking over your shoulder, not trusting anyone and locking your back door. I highly recommend this book. So many plot twists and turns. Each character is developed masterfully. I just downloaded the next book.

Incredible

The performance, pace, and plot of this book are all incredible. I have listened to a lot of Christian fiction books and I can't begin to describe how this is head and shoulders above others. I don't want to name other authors because I respect their work, but I cannot wait to go through every book by this author. I've also never heard a narration performance as enthralling as this one. Highly recommend

Engrossing

Met my expectations. Don't know why others complained about the narrator. I enjoyed his voices and give him a big thumbs up!! Looking forward to others in the series.

Good But...

Written well and a rather unique story...I liked the writers style even if he uses way too many big words...as if he's trying to show off his big vocabulary....I don't mind big words (I done gone to college...lol). But this is not the NY Time crossword puzzle...There were no words I didn't know but many you are unlikely to hear in any setting...

The But:
I'm an Athiest. This book has way too much religious BS for my taste....I don't mind basic everyday RBS but this book is ridiculously full of it....so even tho I liked the story and style of writing I will not be continuing with the rest of the series.

Also will probably first look to see who the original book publisher is... in this case Baker Publishing Group...a Christian Book publisher.

Steven James

These Steven James Thrillers, featuring FBI Special Agent Patrick Bowers are excellent Fiction by Steven James. Richard Ferrone is an exceptionally fine Narrator. When will we get the next book in this series "The Knight"? It is available for The Kindle, but I still love burning books with Nero.
I am a devotee of Audible.com and Amazon.com!

Good Mystery Novel Horrible Narrator

The book is a 3/4. It has great villains and the cops are decent. The story developed well with some great twists and wasn't totally predictable. The writer couldn't pull off the heroes humor or coffee quirk though. If it had a better narrator it would have ranked higher. Its not that the narrator did a horrible job, its just that his voice was perfect for the villain who had very few lines, but retched for the hero. The narrators voice turned the image of the hero into a pathetic loser.
