About this listen

He's the seventh son of a seventh son. He's the only one who can stop the greatest evil.

Tom Ward, the Spook's last apprentice, has everything he needs to vanquish the Fiend, once and for all: The three blades recovered from the dark, the gifts from his witch mother, and the skills he's learned from Master Gregory. And Alice, the one he loves most, is willing to sacrifice herself to fulfill the spell.

Or is she?

Racing against time, all of Tom's old allies - and old enemies - return. They will clash in a final battle more epic than any he has fought before. And a danger Tom never dreamed of will be revealed.

Who will survive? Are you brave enough to find out?

This is the final volume of the internationally bestselling Last Apprentice series.

The drama was much more palpable and kept me at the edge of my seat!!!

The last was the best!!!

Alexander wasn't bad, but he's no Christopher Evans Welch. This book was a great story, summing up Tom's learning and evolution. However, it was hardly a happy ending. I hope Joseph Delaney continues stories of Tom Ward and the other characters I've come to enjoy.

Sad ending to a great series.

There better be another book on the way

I have listened to all the books, then, on the last book they change the voices. I didnt like the ending when Tom refuses to help the witch assasin and refuses to use the start sword.

A bit disappointed

Would you listen to Fury of the Seventh Son again? Why?

Yes, I would honestly listen to it again, as it is a very enticing story.

What other book might you compare Fury of the Seventh Son to and why?

Those who definitely enjoyed the Harry Potter series (That I read/listened to previously before this) Would definitely find this interesting.

What does Alexander Cendese bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Well when I first listened to him I admittedly hadn't expected a voice like his, yet after this first chapter it was easily likable, and his voice impersonation of most of the male characters were fantastic, though some of the females were a bit far fetched such as Grimalkin, but that doesn't mean they were bad. Just more or less just unexpected.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I felt as though at the end of the book, they way he described the final moments towards the end seemed somewhat touching, almost even more than when I previously read it.

Any additional comments?

Great book, great voice actor, and if it is in fact the last book in the series as I'm told, (Hopefully not, as I'm more than likely misinformed.) a wonderful book to read, though to go on further would spoil it for some.

Great book/Reader!

it was a fantastic series and i loved it. A very suitable ending. with my only complaint personally being for the audio book specifically. Why the sudden switch of narrators for the last book?
Don't get me wrong it was a great narration. it was just a little jaring at first because the two are so different vocally.

This a fantastic series

Intense an epic battle between good and evil its exciting and breathtaking at the same time Joseph Delaneys style of writing is simply marvelous

Thrilling and exciting

I am fully aware of the death of Christopher Evan Welch, rest in peace. But this actor gave Scottish accents to almost every character when NONE OF THEM ARE SCOTTISH! He did not do a good job at differentiating the characters at all, a lot of them sounded the same! I was severely disappointed.

Voice actor is horrible

I have loved this series with all my heart since I was a teenager. The story was intriguing, but the I am confused as to why the narrator chose a Scottish accent for the witches... the men of the County had a very English accent, but the witches all had a ghastly Scottish accent. 8/10 because a lot of questions on how things ended, and the sequel didn't quite feel the same

This is the Harry Potter for grown ups. A series so good I've tried buying new releases from England (who gets it first). One of the first thing the cover of the book advises is to "not read it after dark". That advice makes me smile because this describes the series perfectly. It is so fun creepy, that you never want the book(s) to end.

In this the 13th and last book, it was wonderful that Tom shed the old issues and people and paves the way for a new series. A new apprentice that is the 7th DAUGHTER of a 7th DAUGHTER. How cool is that?

There are some that lament the lost of Alice to the dark; but I for one was getting tired of the inner fighting of Alice's soul. I mean, enough already. I even got bored with old Gregory's preaching.

This was a book that had Tom finally grow up. He understood his role and came to appreciate his powers without being torn between Alice's and Gregory's vision of his place in future events.

Tom is ready to move on--and so am I.

Fitting end to a great series
