Tugs on the Heartstrings

This audiobook is unlike any I have listen to before. When listening to the author speak and tell his story, you could feel his passion and his love for the game, his family and friends, and God.

As someone who lost her faith due to events that occurred during college and is someone working to rebuild that foundation of faith, this is a perfect book and tool to utilize. It gives a great alternative way to look at the events that have spiraled in your life. The book shares a real story of someone who struggled throughout childhood with bullying, faced significant health conditions, and lost the game he loved. All in all, I think this book can connect to a wide audience and can transform your way of thinking about certain events that have occurred throughout your life.

Would highly recommend

This book was incredible. I would highly recommend this book. At first, I didn't think I would like it because I thought it was going to deal with sports, but like the title, it was a game changer. I loved it, glad I had the opportunity to read it.

Truly inspirational!

Wow! I was blown away by the depth of this book. Let me begin by saying if at all possible try to listen to this with free time and a pen and notepad nearby. There is so much valuable information and thoughts to remember.

I’m naturally fascinated by sports and have been involved in them for my whole life much like the author and there are moments throughout the book where having a knowledge of terms helps to connect to the story but it’s not too specific to be confusing to someone who has a lesser interest or knowledge about sports. Someone who knows nothing about sports can still get the same amount of insight as a well versed athlete. Don’t be intimidated.

I really enjoyed that this was narrated by the author himself as it truly brings out his emotion and passions behind his work. The production was a great mix of humor, intensity, and deeply emotional moments. Absolutely touching at times.

This story and guide is a true testimony of God’s sovereignty and the power of prayer. The emphasis on faith and a personal relationship with Creator God brings an entire level of truth and hope to lean on.

There’s not a person I wouldn’t recommend this book to. I believe this book is especially good for people who are leaders or who aspire to be a leader. Coaches, teachers, parents, mentors, and all Christians this book will be especially helpful for you.

Overall, this was one great listen and I know for a fact that I will be listening to this many more times in the future.

Inspiring, and with great perspective.

I believe this book to be inspirational, and provide unique perspective. Being read by the author, the emotion behind the story is not like any of the other audible books i've listened to. It's personal, its dynamic, and you can feel both the pain, sorrow, joy, and fear in the words as Mr. Kuhnert tells his stories. His passion for his family, his joys, and his faith are very prevalent.

I am not a person whom one would consider very religious. However, I enjoy the exploration and aspects of many religions while personally choosing none. I feel the stories in many can teach great life lessons and bring meaning and value to a person's life, and I greatly enjoy hearing them and others interpretations of them. Mr. Kuehnert's passion in his faith is wonderfully warm, compassionate and he shares it in a way where all can enjoy, whether you share his exact beliefs or not. All can support the ideals he presents in this book. So if you are simply looking for a basic list of "step by step" plans to succeed, this isn't the book for you.

The story of Mr. Kuhnert's life was not fully known to me, even though I enjoy volunteering in the Nubability program. I've met him a couple times, but primarily run into his Dad. This story of his life show that not only his faith allowed him to prevail, but also his upbringing in a small town rural family. I share personally shared a very similar up bringing in a rural farming community, and in many times in this book fondly remembered similar situations which brought a smile, or remembered a bully in the past, times of fear, and times of joy. I think if you've grown up in the country that you too would draw the same connections regardless that the passion of baseball Sam speaks of may differ. His perseverance, and dedication to his sport of baseball is 110%, and while I chased a completely different professional career sport, the "work" is the same.

Therefore this book makes me feel a great connection to the author, like a friend I've had since elementary school. And while we may have different passions, hobbies, or even faiths, I feel welcome to sit and chat of life and of family on the back porch with an ice cold sweet tea.

If you feel lost, or are struggling, or if you are doing great and your ship is running smoothly, I recommend this book to you. What Sam shares in this, and his story, is something all can benefit from.

Inspirational, Biblical, Powerful!

This book is in a category by itself: Part autobiography, part Bible study, part Self-Help, part Inspirational non-fiction.

If you know anyone who has a physical difference this book is a must read!
It’s a great story to tackle solo, but would also be great for a small group study.

Sam’s story is inspirational. He draws on his experience as a limb different athlete to motivate and inspire his readers to set aside excuses and strive for the best. His difference has never been a disability, and he encourages his readers to overcome whatever battles they face in life to reach for their goals and draw on strength from the Lord.

He has wisdom beyond his years, is grounded in Biblical teaching, and speaks with passion and honesty. I highly encourage anyone I know to give this book a read/listen.

Sam's Story deserves 10 stars

I'm glad Sam choose to narrate his book instead of having some else read his words as It changes the dynamic entirely. Being limb different myself I feel a lot of the things Sam talks about, hearing his story and really listening to it will open your eyes to things that can be done, beyond just surviving 20 years as an amputee. No matter what physical or mental challenge you face, implementing Sam's three strikes into your life will surely open your mind to endless possibilities... "you just have to believe". Thank you for sharing your journey along the purpose God laid out for you.

Everyone needs a different Prospective! Thanks Sam

As a parent of a limb different athlete, Sam’s prospective reminds me we all have a part in Changing the World!

People can be cruel without a clue that their stares or comments are painful. From the first time someone stormed up to me at a local grocery store to asked what happed to that babies arm. To the scoffs of so called coaches that were to afraid to see what a kid with one hand can do. Sam’s prospective gives me hope that we are not alone. Also, that we are total failures as parents that pushed our child to do more.
Game Changer is was we are all called to be. Get ready to be convicted, motivated and inspired by a guy who is out to change the world.
Thanks for putting it out there Sam!
