Editorial reviews

When Garrison Keillor talks, an audience listens. His voice is simply mesmerizing, whether he's telling humorous stories or riffing on the differences between New York and the Midwest. In this 1997 program from the 92nd Street Y, Keillor is at his soothing and engaging best. He tickles funny bones, pulls heartstrings, and in general exposes human beings at their most tender.

The Minnesota native has been delighting radio audiences since 1963 and his public radio show, A Prairie Home Companion, is only one showcase for his many charms. Keillor answers questions at the end of his program, proving himself to be just as funny off the cuff as he is formally.

I will always be in Lake Wobegon with you

I have been listening to Garrison from the beginning and the highlight of my week was Prairie Home Companion. I have read and re-read almost all his books. I totally enjoyed this book and hearing more about him and his life. Stories like these are shared lessons that you can relate too and help you reflect on your own journey. I personally appreciated his discussion of his fall from grace due to the Me Too Movement. Even before hearing his side I felt many were punished publicly while being silenced. We feel if we disagree and or we are offended by someone you scream them silent or worse ruin them. You may feel as if you have won but you have not. Bad things happen and when they do they should be handled in the courts. I will always be a fan and will continue to enjoy Garrsion's work.
