About this listen

For the first time in her life, Frayka is alone.

Separated from family and friends, she must pursue the task given to her by the Northlander gods of her home country: to find the dragon gods of the Far East and convince them to make amends for all the harm they’ve done.

Frayka travels through a hostile country whose customs are unknown to her. Every word she speaks—every action she takes—could unwittingly offend those around her and bring about disaster.

Frayka must keep her wits about her. Unless she can find someone to guide her through the cultural landmines she now faces, each step Frayka takes threatens to place her in peril.

Book 2 of this cycle of Frayka's journey east. . .

Frayka continues her journey to seek help for her home, but must carefully find her way. The story continues much like book one. The narrator needs to up her game.

Frayka’s second challenge in the Far Eastern lands

Frayka’s search for the Dragon god of Earth is fraught with not just the challenge of finding the God, but danger from multiple sources. Emperor Po, bride hunters, royal guards all seem to be set on placing obstacles in her way or completely thwarting her mission of getting the Gods of the Far East to make peace with the All Father. This second story in the Dragons Gods series was highly entertaining and set the hook deep for listening to Gate of Water, the next in the series. Once again Resa Nelson does an expert job of narrating the story and bringing it and the characters to life.

Second Book in Fraka's Quest

Fraka's quest continues in this book, with the meeting of the Dragon God of Earth. There is quite a bit of repetition in the text, which takes away from the primary story. The narration also makes it difficult to follow at times, given the fact that the author/narrator does not change her voice with the characters.
