F. Paul Wilson
F. Paul Wilson returns with another riveting episode in the saga of Repairman Jack, the secretive, ingenious, and heroic champion of those whose problems no one else can fix. As Dean Koontz says, “Repairman Jack is one of the most original and intriguing characters to arise out of contemporary fiction in ages. His adventures are hugely entertaining.”
Jack learns that his father is in a coma after a car accident in Florida. They’ve been on the outs, but this is his dad, so he heads south to Gateways, a retirement community on the Everglades. The woman Semelee, who has strange talents and lives in an isolated area of the Everglades with a group of misshapen men, feels his presence. She senses that he’s “special,” like her. To protect his father from becoming the next fatality at Gateways, there are questions Jack must answer, secrets he must uncover.

Would you listen to Gateways again? Why?
Probably would listen to again if I didn't have anything new to listen to.Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
This one had a good plot. Outcome somewhat predictable but getting there not so much. This goes into details about Jack's relationship with his father and just goes to show when you think you know someone (especially one's own parent) there are things you'll never know or may be very surprised to learn.Have you listened to any of Christopher Price’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Christopher Price did a great job as usual. One of the Best Repairman Jack books

Where does Gateways rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I would rank it in the top ten which is pretty damn good. I haven't heard every book in the "repairman jack" series but from the books I've heard so far this is one of the best series ever!Who was your favorite character and why?
Well, that would probably be Semelee because she reminds me of my sister. Semelee started out sweet but she changed as she got older. Semelee turned evil because of the way she was treated by people...especially boys. What about Christopher Price’s performance did you like?
Well, I guess I like pretty much everything about Christopher Price's performance. He did a fine job with the accents and his speaking pace kept my mind from wandering. He did a fine job.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No, I did not have an extreme reaction, good or bad. Sorry.Any additional comments?
This is one the best series of books ever written and I don't understand why the "repairman Jack" series isn't more popular. It's strange. If you're into mystery-suspense with some supernatural tossed in than you can't go wrong with "Repairman Jack". It's an amazing series...trust me.Why aren't these books more popular?

If you could sum up Gateways in three words, what would they be?
A great "Hump Book: for this series. I am mid way through and thsi one livened up the score a bitWhat was one of the most memorable moments of Gateways?
I accidentally wrote this on The Tomb review thinking of thsi book. The Dog and Alligator incidentWhat does Christopher Price bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Christopher Price is an excellent narrator, I have given up on books that are supposed to be excellent due to poor narration so if I am already on the 8th book, that must say something. He has many talents which I have only seen in three narrators so far. This is over the course of 4 or 5 years now.I am not very forgiving with poor narration so Christopher Price is one of the best. His characters each have specific tones, accents or shall I say Identities, which make it easy to identify who is in play.
I will look for books strictly for the narrator and hope they are my style..If the narratoer is so so, then what is the point of listening to the book.
One of the best
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Jack and his Dad had a discussion and realized they really had more in common then ever assumed. Also the dog and gator, gotta love that!!Any additional comments?
