Publisher's summary

If you want to discover the captivating life of Genghis Khan, then pay attention...

Around the year 1162, near the modern capital of Mongolia, a baby boy was born into a fractious and violent world. The birth of this child must have caused quite a stir among the members of the nomadic tribe that he had been born into. Word soon traveled that the son of Yesügei, the Borjigin tribal leader, had been born clutching a blood clot in his tiny hand.

Mongol folklore hailed this as a sign that the child would grow up to be a great leader of men, but, perhaps, history would interpret the baby’s gruesome prize as a foreshadowing of the bloodshed that would accompany his life and his legacy.

In Genghis Khan: A Captivating Guide to the Founder of the Mongol Empire and His Conquests Which Resulted in the Largest Contiguous Empire in History, you will discover chapters such as:

Very Interesting

This is an interesting fact-filled audiobook. The only thing that prevents me from loving this book is that the author likes to show off and use an obscure word at least once on almost every chapter. This grew very tedious, but my interest in the subject overcame my irritation.

Genghis Khan

Genghis Khan and his minions were not unusually cruel, just unusually successful, but they contributed nothing novel to the world, although they created a situation in which many cultures interacted.

Loved this book.

Loved this book. This is for people who want an in-depth account of Genghis and his legacy. I had listened to this account of Genghis but wanted more depth and this more than satisfies in its completeness.

Loved It

The book covers the regions not only which were conquered but where the Mongols threatened but never overran, as well as describing how places like China were run once Genghis gained control. The complaint I have is the author's use of Latin phrases and other terms that I did not understand and which the book could have done without. Still overall highly recommended.
