Publisher's summary

In Northeast Texas, the epic adventure of a group of survivors begins as they take refuge in a hospital, waiting to see if the worldwide red infection can be stopped before all humanity is wiped out.

As victims awaken from a coma, they now have the basic need to attack loved ones, spread the infection, and feed on warm flesh. Only rage remains. In days, the dead outnumber the living, and the US turns to the ultimate weapons to stop the infection.

In a world filled with zombies, survivors find that the living can be far more inhumane and cruel than anything they have ever imagined, as raiders scavenge for supplies, and lawlessness and hatred are the norm. Both outlaws and zombies crave meat. In this time of hopelessness and horror, a bullet to the brain may be the kindest action.

George, an older, retired police officer, sets his own terms: fight and survive or go the way you want, but don’t let the zombies win. He explains that everyone is responsible for his or her own fate, and if that means going out on unpopular terms, then so be it.

Len, a retired Marine; a quiet cowboy, Kim; a hot-tempered Hispanic woman, Julia; and a compassionate young woman, Beth all begin their terrorizing journey, not only to survive but also to establish a new society, find love and joy in a barren, bloody landscape, and to face gathering enemies.

The first of the compelling series, George’s Terms introduces a memorable cast of characters and a terrifying vision of a world, burned to rubble and filled with flesh-eating adversaries. As each person faces inner fears and new roles, he finds law and morality must be redefined.

Zombies are used as the vehicle, but the story is all about what humans will do to survive when the odds are stacked against them. Luckily, for the survivors, George has given them the terms that may keep humans from becoming extinct.

Just mediocre

It’s not a bad story but way too many characters. Couldn’t keep up with all of them. The good thing, many of them got killed off so toward the end its a small group.

Old Guys vs Zombies

Overall a pretty good story with decent characters. Most of the characters are decent and what you'd like to think would be the reaction of most people in a crisis. The story moves along well and keeps you entertained.
First part of a 3 part series. Hopefully the rest of the series will be released.
Well narrated by S.W. Salzman.

Zombie apocalypse story

Zombie apocalypse story with potential to become a good series. Several of the characters were likeable and I honestly want to know what happens to them and how their journey goes. I will be looking for book 2. I received this for free for an honest review.

A libertarian take on the Zombie Apocalypse

I really wanted to love this book. The story is somewhat engaging, and the libertarian take on perusing life liberty, and happiness in the midst of an apocalyptic rising up of the dead is something that needs to be written. On the other hand, this is an audiobook site, and it's as much about the reading as the text.

Honestly, the reading felt rushed. Usually this is not a problem, I adjusted the book speed down to 80%, and moved on with the book. This might have done it, but reduced or no, the pauses, where commas and periods rule, seemed to have variable lengths, throwing another wrench into my listening experience. I enjoy the reader's voice, and their ability to give each character life, but I think this book should have spent some extra time in the editing booth.

I requested a free review copy of this audiobook, with expectation of my honest review. Thank you for allowing me to listen to and review the book!

Has potential...

George's Terms (Z Is for Zombie, Book 1) by Catt Dahman and narrated by S.W. Salzman started out with a bang and fizzled a little too much for my personal taste.

It’s a fairly typical zombie tale that has more of a character-driven focus. The action that occurs kept my attention but it’s sporadic and unfortunately the unneeded dialogue bogged the story down. There were a couple things that helped make it stand out from others- psychic and different kinds of zeds. Honestly if the dialogue issue was fixed, it’d be a great book. As it is currently, it didn’t engage me enough.

The narrator, S. W. Salzman, is the reason I wanted to listen to this book. He does an excellent job and I’m not sure I would’ve finished the book if he hadn’t been narrating.

I’d recommend if you’re looking for a zombie fix.

Parental guidance/trigger warnings: it’s a zompoc tale- death, crazies, agent orange, prostitution, racial slurs, bomb, abortion mention, and possibly others I’m forgetting.

Terms of survival!

All-in-all a fairly good post-apocalyptic tale of survival. First, a virus is set loose, then the warheads begin falling. Was this our own attempt at containment, a terrorist attack, or war? Our leader, Len is a retired Army Officer. Len manages to get some survivors together, find arms and supplies, and hold up in a partially destroyed hospital. The account shares personality and background on some of the survivors so that we get to know and possibly care about them. It also chronicles the group’s successes and failures at rescuing additional survivors. Distrust and squabbles come and go. Tension and violence rule the world. Zombies Zombies Zombies

I liked the story. It was very detailed and had child zombies in it. I really had to pay attention while listening to it. The Narrator is very monotone and that makes it difficult to stay with the story. All in all it wasn't bad.

Potential for growth

This is very interesting, the added mix of the problems after the government response gives even more realism to the story.

I'm looking forward to the series and to see where it goes from here. The narrator had a good variety of voices and ways of keeping the listener engaged and interested as well.

George's Terms

I really enjoyed this book. This is one of the better zombie type stories out there. I loved that most of the characters weren't one-dimensional. I thought the narrator did a really good job. I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Another stellar performance by Salzman. I can not give enough praise to Salzman for his work. I loved this story it had me riveted and I had to know what happened next. I really hope there is a book 2 because I want to know what they do next.
