About this listen

On a sunny Monday morning, Macy Moore was on the fast track to success. By noon, all of her dreams were derailed.

Macy Moore skedaddled from her hometown of Beauty, Georgia, to Florida in order to make her own way in the world. Successful and happy, she couldn't be more proud of her corporate executive job, her just-perfect boyfriend, and her beachside condo. But it all falls apart when she reads the first email of the day. She's demoted to the lowest rung on the corporate ladder...and dumped! She goes from being "someone" to a being "nobody", all on the eve of returning home to emcee her high school reunion.

Thank goodness for the "Single Saved Sisters". With loyal friends Lucy, Adriane, and Tamara by her side, Macy retreats to the House of Joe for coffee, consolation, and heart-to-heart consultation.

Can they help her put her life back together?

Yet it's when her former heartthrob, Dylan, shows up on her doorstep, that Macy begins to realize that leaving Beauty, Georgia, took her away from everything in life she really loved.

Narrator Nailed It

When I first began the book, I wasn't that impressed with the narrator. But, oh my, am I glad I gave it a minute. Amanda Ronconi NAILED it. Hauck's character, Macy, is funny, adorable and infinitely likeable, in large part to Ronconi. Highly recommend.

Feel good story

The story itself was very good. Some of the accents by the narrator were meh. Other than that the narration was fine.

Different but don’t miss!

Performance so much different than other Rachel Hauck books I almost didn’t give it a chance, but Amanda Ronconi did a spot on job of catching Macy. Aging a little different than this authors flair but I loved it!

Christian but NOT a romance

The writer is excellent with characterization and weaving stories together. I thought this was a romance but of the 8+ hours I am guessing less than 1/2 hour was spent on only hinting about the possibility of romance. It was about 6 hours of trying to decide what job she should take... about 4 hours more than needed. Good author ... just not what I expected.

I did it all with this one!

Thank you Rachel Hauck! I experienced all the emotions with “Georgia on Her Mind“. This book was fabulous. I laughed, I cried and laughed some more. The characters were well rounded. I love the main character’s sarcasm. If you just want to laugh and have a good time in another’s world pick up this book.

little too Jesus for me

love narrator she was the reason I listened. the story was ok kind of all over the place. too much preachy Jesus talk. talk spirituality and God and prayer but too much changes whole book.
story was very predictable and I would have quit but I was at work and easiest to just finish it.

Return to Beauty Already!

I loved the story! Definitely not a romance but between the single saved sisters and Macy's relatable tendencies, I quite enjoyed seeing her go from a life unraveling to reconnecting with her faith. Rachel does a really great job of creating characters you can not only empathize with but also see yourself in. The only issue was at about the 2 hour to finish mark, the whole will she won't she return to beauty arc of the story felt a bit long winded. Macy got everything (including thunder from heaven) indicating the decision would be in her best interest but still remained indecisive, which quite frankly got pretty annoying towards the last 40 minutes. I get making life changing decisions are hard but there was no reason to walk us through so many hours of that one decision. I sort of wish we had more time to see her life in beauty, and potential romance start to form. I also don't see the point in Drag's dad offering her yet another opportunity to ponder over, I think 2 job opportunities were enough to drive in the point the author was making. A good book but we already know from the title she's got georgia on her mind so why so much decision paralysis? Aside from that, I loved Amanda's performance, I live in Atlanta and her southern twang got the best of me, felt like talking to a friend.
