About this listen

No one would say Keelie Lockhart isn’t determined.

Taking on the role of both mom and dad to her two young kids, she’s managing life the best she can. Saddled with a century-old dilapidated farmhouse she can’t afford, a bevy of goats, two dogs, and a geriatric donkey, the last thing she has time for is a man - even if that man is a knight whose shining armor comes in the form of worn-in jeans and work boots.

Controlled, methodical, and focused - Asa Hollingsworth takes charge of everything in life. Working close to home after years away, he finally has the time to focus on his kids. Little does he know, a chance meeting with a petite strawberry-blonde stranded on the side of the road, would intertwine their lives in a way he’d never want to untangle.

But when school bullies turn into something much worse, Asa starts to dig around. He never dreams the troubles lurking in the hallways of the local high school would shake his family to its core. With drug dealers lurking, bullets flying, and threats coming from every angle, Asa must do everything he can to protect the ones he loves.

Because in the end, there’s nothing more precious than the gift of life.

The Killers series is intended for mature listeners.

Brynne Asher delivers another home run

This series has been an incredible ride.
I’ve been unable to get anything done because once I hit “play” I just can’t stop listening to these intricate action suspense romances.
This was spectacular. I loved that Asa finally finds his match.
This was quite a twisted tale that was utterly relatable. Single parent families and all the intricacies of taking that step and blending together.
Tons of side plots and villains.
Lots of tender moments, introspection and working through issues without becoming tedious and boring.
The kids were believable. The goats, dogs, barn cats and the geriatric donkey brought some levity and joy.
Kit and Jason’s narration was superb, as always.
This book also brings in some of the previous characters from the first books. It’s nice that the series is crafted around such a great cast.

All in all, this one is a great addition to the series.
It can easily be read as a stand alone book too. I do love that Brynne Asher doesn’t have the annoying habit of leaving loose ends and cliffhangers that some other authors use to force book buyers into buying the next book in a series.

⭐️⭐️Another Killer Review⭐️⭐️

Just finished book 3 in the killers series and WOW, another hit! Just as with the first two books, this one did not disappoint! Excellent all the way through and unique. Some series are just remodels of the first book, but these have depth in their characters and circumstances surrounding them. Now on to book 4!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⚡️

One of my favorites

I really enjoyed the 3rd book! Even though I feel like keely wasn’t always consistent in her personality, I really liked the kids, the suspense was really well done, and the romance!!

Pretty Good...but...

Keely & Emma are both helpless and ANNOYING characters!! Good storyline besides that. Dual narration is also good, but would be better with duet narration.

Best “Killer” Yet

This is by far my favorite in the series so far! Maybe it’s because I’m a parent but it felt very real. Their connection with each other and how their lives with their children blend in the best ways. It’s a must read. Kit and Jason give an amazing performance as always.
