Publisher's summary

Imagine if Sherlock Holmes was an eleven-year-old girl!

When girl detective Friday Barnes solves a bank robbery she uses the reward money to send herself to the most exclusive boarding school in the country, Highcrest Academy.

On arrival, Friday is shocked to discover the respectable school is actually a hotbed of crime. She's soon investigating everything from disappearing homework to the Yeti running around the school swamp. That's when she's not dealing with her own problem - Ian Wainscott, the handsomest boy in school, who inexplicably hates Friday and loves nasty pranks.

Can Friday solve Highcrest Academy's many strange mysteries, including the biggest mystery of all - what's the point of high school?

surprising ending

The mystery and crime solving were the best. The deductive reasoning was especially interesting. I learned a lot.

Wonderful!

Our family loved listening to this on our drives to and from school, activities, and basically anytime we were in the car—we didn’t want it to end! Please, please, please record the rest of the Friday Barnes series!

Great story for kids and adults

My favorite kids story ... and the kids like it too! Plus it is increasing their vocabulary.

Wonderful Book

This book is easily one of the best mysteries for children. I cannot wait for the sequel to appear on audible. This book begins such an amusing and exiting book series, the author uses her unique writing style to set the story off. Every new mystery, the author, RA Sprat comes up with such an original and elaborate scheme, and is able to make it fit together so perfectly, it’s mind blowing. Although this series is recommended mostly for nine to twelve year olds, I am thirteen and find this book wonderfully entertaining, especially, in the most recent books Friday is more grown up and the books become more appealing to older kids. I am not saying this book is for older children, as a matter of fact, a seven year old would love this.
