Publisher's summary

Two worlds. One glass wall. No turning back.

The human race has been divided. The chosen few live in the safety of the domes, watching through their glass walls as those left on the outside suffer and die. But desperation has brought invention. New drugs have the ability to alter humans, giving them the strength to roam the poisoned night unafraid - but survival comes at a terrible price.

Seventeen-year-old Nola Kent has spent her life in the domes, training to protect her little piece of the world within the glass. The mission of the domes is to preserve the human race, not to help the sick and starving.

When the fate of an outsider child falls into her hands, Nola dares to venture beyond the security of her home, diving into a world of darkness and vampires. Life within the glass didn’t prepare her for the realities of suffering or the depth of forbidden love.

When blood washes over the domes, Nola must choose between her home and her heart.

Girl of Glass is an action-packed dystopian tale. If you like romance, strong heroines, and a touch of paranormal danger, then you’ll love joining Megan O’Russell’s more than 200,000 satisfied fans.

Not your average series

Excellent story. The details make sense, and although it's a fantasy world, it all seems plausible. There are strong smart female heros who are not at all diminished by the fact that the male characters are also strong and smart.
Vampires, werewolves, and zombie...but not what you think. Lessons in compassion abound in the midst of devastating circumstances. Well done!

Incredibly original and extraordinary!

Forget everything you think you know about vampires.
Forget everything you think you know about werewolves.
Forget everything you think you know about zombies.
Forget everything you think you know about dystopian YA.

Megan O’Russell has completely broken the mold, and shattered the glass!

O’Russell has managed to make even the most common supernatural creatures unique and original in a way that will have readers questioning the true possibility of the creatures walking among us. In a genre rampant with vampires, werewolves, and zombies, O’Russell has created brand new concepts that completely reimagine what readers know about the supernatural.

Nola is every bit the heroin readers love: brave, ready to question society, caring about others above herself, caring about everyone despite their status or even their species, and ready to change the world no matter the personal cost.

The society O’Russell has created is unpredictable, and frighteningly possible in todays ever complicated world.

An absolute must read, making O’Russell a one of a kind, truly talented writer, one readers will instantly flock to.
The world is waiting with bated breath for the next Megan O’Russell Masterpiece!

Maybe for a specific audience

I gave this book about 5 hours before I gave up and switched to something else. I liked the initial premise of a scifi based urban fantasy but it felt like the author needed to put more time into considering aspects of the world building that just didn't work. Maybe if I was able to get further in the story some of the aspects that just don't make much sense would be better fleshed out. Unfortunately the dialog is also stale and completely uninteresting. There isn't a single line of dialog I can even bring to mind other then the one where the "vampires" ask why they wouldn't call themselves vampires. Oh, I don't know. Because of the idea that you don't want to associate yourselves with a mythological creature that preys on and controls humans and that is traditionally thought of as evil? There was something that was bothering me about this series as I was listening to it, and then I realized what was nagging me. This book series is just Twilight slammed into The Hunger Games. So fans of both series may find this book enjoyable. I did not.

Why did I finish it?

I loved Ena so I had anticipation for this story. The entire 30+ hours can be summed up like this Main characters: are you ok? I love you I won’t go without you that’s about all you need to know and the narrator chose to read it like a elementary school story
