Publisher's summary

When Charles Fend announces the Fend 100 aircraft, the world's first fully autonomous commercial airliner, he is praised for being a pioneer in aviation history. The Fend 100 will bring a new dawn of commercial flying to the world. One where human pilots are replaced by AI machines that will navigate over 100,000 flights per day. The first flight is a celebratory spectacle - the Fend headquarters crowded with news teams, technology lovers, and aviation enthusiasts. The atmosphere is jovial, and everyone is eager to celebrate.

Until something goes terribly wrong.

The Fend 100 suddenly begins an uncommanded descent over the Atlantic, and neither the engineers on the ground nor the test pilots aboard can override the controls....

But who is responsible?

Is it the wealthy ex-KGB agent, Pavel Morozov, who has shown up from a past Charles had long-forgotten?

Or was it Charles' son, Max - on the run from the FBI after he was accused of sending Fend Aerospace corporate secrets to a criminal enterprise?

And just who is Max Fend?

Is he the man that the media makes him out to be - the wild playboy son of an aerospace tycoon? Or is he what the FBI suspects - an international criminal, mixed up in a Russian espionage game? And why is there a top secret personnel file on him that even his FBI investigator isn't allowed to see?

Glidepath is a race to uncover the truth, before it comes crashing down from above....

Great STory

Would you listen to Glidepath again? Why?

No, the narrator couldn't keep up with his voiced characters. When reading female and male voices he would start out okay but after a few voice changes, they became the same. I think I would rather just have him read it and not try different voices. It got confusing

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

It started slow but 2-3 chapters into the story I was hooked.

How could the performance have been better?

Maybe just read the book instead performing. If it's going to be performed, remember which voice was used for the different characters instead of interchanging them.

Okay story, annoying narration

An adequate story was ruined by a narrator who set my teeth on edge with his droning voice and awkward character voices. If you are one who can ignore that sort of thing, you might enjoy the action and plot twists.

Worthwhile espionage suspense thriller!

I enjoyed this novel. The average Audible rating is 4.0 stars (vs. 4.4 at Amazon and 4.1 at Goodreads), but the three Audible reviews average 1.3 stars. When the second book in the series is released I will purchase and listen to it.

LOOK at all of the narrators poor Reviews!

The storyline was intriguing, but not enough as to put up with the poor, poor narrative, Every sentence was painful to get past. If a good narrator is important to you, the kind that can "Tell a story", give the characters life, or something as simple as emphasising the correct words in the sentence the save yourself the time.

Great Story

The only thing I had issue with and this could just be me, is that there was to much bass in the audiobook making it hard to listen to. I was able to lower the bass settings in my car making it much more enjoyable. Aside from that I enjoyed every aspect of this audiobook. The story was awesome and exciting at every turn. I was on the edge of my seat rooting for Max the entire story. The author kept the pacing of the story so that you wanted to keep going to find out what happened next. I am looking forward to listening to more Max Fend adventures in the future. If you haven't read or listened to this story yet, then you are going to want to.

GREAT SPY STORY!!!

I lived every moment of it. The character building was great. The atmosphere it set was amazing and I never 100% knew his true end game. 10/10!

Slow Path

This story takes too long to get me 'on board.' Had to listen past chapter ten to become involved and care if I heard more.
Enjoyed the story once it picked up in action, although it did seem a bit contrived and difficult to accept as reality. Felt that Renee's character as well as their relationship were not well enough developed to satisfy my emotional needs for that part of the story. This book was my first audible experience and it took some time for me to adjust from reading to listening! It helped me make that transition and I am eager to choose my next read from my library.

Great Story---Buy The Hard Copy

This book was recommended to me by a highly reliable source however his recommendation was based upon the print version. Normally that would have made no difference to me but this was a major exception. I liked the story so much, and disliked the narrator SO MUCH that I had to stop in the middle and acquire the book (hard copy). The other unique experience for me is that when I complain about readers, which I rarely do, it's always due to egregious mispronunciation. The reader, to his credit, seemed to be highly literate but his voice was incredibly annoying. I thought I would eventually get used to it but I didn't.

Everyone is different----maybe it won't bother you, but I can almost guarantee that you'll love the story. Can't wait to hear more from this author.
