Goal Setting 101
This Audiobook stepped through setting goals and how to work on making them happen. The material was interesting and informative.
I’m not sure this was the right narrator for this material. I’ve have thoroughly enjoyed listening to other books narrated by C.J. McAllister.

Very Useful Info That Everyone Can Use
Would you consider the audio edition of Goal Setting 101: Basic Effective Steps to Crushing Your Goals, Fulfilling Your Dreams, and Writing Your Own Success Story to be better than the print version?
Although I did not get the print version, I found the audiobook to be useful, and packed with advice that almost everyone can use. It might be a better book to have as a print version, though, so that you can refer to it, highlight important points, and make lists of useful tips.
What did you like best about this story?
I found the book to be quick-moving with very useful tips and examples. It never drags and at times it felt like I was listening to a personal life coach or a friend with a lot of experience passing on their best tips for success.
What three words best describe C.J. McAllister’s performance?
The narrator has a rich voice with good inflections. However, I found his pace too slow for me, so I played it at 1.5x the speed. This unfortunately changed the pitch of his voice! It would be great if Audible could allow speed increases without pitch changes.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This book has pages of useful advice that nearly everyone can use. It really is loaded with solid examples of how to use goal setting to reach your dreams. Very general, so it has something for everyone.
Any additional comments?
The book is written in a contemporary, conversational style, with comments like "You know and I know", "Do you see the pattern here?" and "Let's get one thing clear." This could be seen as a negative or a positive, depending on the style of writing you prefer. The subtitle " Crushing Your Goals...." is a bit unusual, since "crushing" was a negative in the past but is now used to show complete mastery. Overall, though, this book is easy to get into. Much useful information for everyone here.

Hypnotic narration makes it hard to retain info
Sometimes you have an informative book, a narrator with a lovely voice, and it all goes horribly wrong. I've been wrestling with this one since I got it.
I'm a commuter listener and the narration is so close to one of the male voices offered on my phone that I find it a struggle to actually process the information. Instead miles go by and I realize I'm lulled by that soothing voice into a drifting state where I'm thinking about everything but the actual words I'm hearing. If you've ever asked Alexa to read your Kindle book or your iPhone to read an email, you'll know the rhythmic, mechanical voice pattern. If you have a device where you can listen on faster speeds, it helps.
The pity is, when I struggle past that incredibly soothing voice, there's really good information here. It's one of the times I wished Audible offered a reverse discount for the Kindle book because I'd be tempted to go back and buy it.
This review is heavily about the narration, because I'm literally fighting that voice to get to the information. Completely miscast. I look forward to a romance or fantasy novel with emotional scenes to turn that golden voice loose on. I've actually looked up the narrator to see what else he's done.
As for the book contents, once you get past the voice, the info is great. This is one time I'd recommend buying the actual book so you can put flags and highlights and refer back to it as you set your goals.
I hate to ding a work when individually the parts were excellent. Alas, this is one time when combining them was a failure for me.
