About this listen

A first-of-its-kind devotional for the disenchanted, disillusioned, and deconstructed

Countless Christians are deconstructing the fear-based faith they were handed, but many don’t want to give up on God—they want to love and be loved by Jesus without hateful or abusive theology. If you’re one of these believers, this feminist, anti-racist, LGBTQ-affirming devotional will take you on a journey of spiritual reenchantment. Featuring 40 devotions on God’s radical and liberating salvation, it’s here to help you heal your church hurt, restore your sense of community, and embrace Jesus’s heart-healing forgiveness. Move beyond rigid religion and reconnect with the undeniable truth that predates and will outlive all the toxic theology in the world: God made you to love you.

I felt so lonely…

… but then I came across this book. Rev. Lizzie offers fresh air in the stuffy atmosphere of Christianity. I felt so lonely in my thoughts (that are so similar to the author’s), but now I know that they make sense! Thank you!

Joy, laughter, love

Book. So. Good. Lizzie’s perspective as a mother, woman, and priest is so welcomed and needed. If you are struggling to have faith in God, in the Bible, in religious leaders this book gives you a glimpse of the love, joy, and laughter that comes from deconstructing and reconstructing your faith. Very much worth a read 12/10, all the stars, and glitter as well!

Rev Lizzie brings excitement into looking at faith

The Episcopal faith is full of loving and accepting members and leaders. Rev Lizzie is definitely one of those leaders! More importantly she goes beyond that, she teaches and guides the readers through a journey of greater understanding of the Bible and breaking it down in not only a way clear way but putting a bit of sparkle and sunshine in it.
