About this listen

This odd, irreverent spiritual memoir chronicles the author's accidental hallucinogenic journey to God and back with blunt comic undertones, undercutting the lofty gravitas typically associated with the "meeting God" genre. While making no claims regarding the "proof" of God in any way, this light-hearted true story is an entertaining and thought-provoking journey into the psychology of religion and the existence of God.

A good listen

I enjoyed listening to this book and found much of the information to be in line with Neville’s ideas which are that we can access God through our own imaginations.

Interesting POV

This was really interesting. It almost sounds like he did have a NDE without realizing it. Stories like these really make me believe there is so much we don’t know.

A new favorite

I stumbled across this book in the most random (or perhaps not so random?) way. It seemed to answer very specific questions and doubts and theories that I’ve held for years. There were moments when it seemed that God himself was tapping my forehead - THIS - listen up. Joshua’s story has helped make sense of spirituality. Which in turn, seems to have improved my sense of peace and well-being. In addition - it’s a truly funny and easy read, and I’d recommend it to anyone who can handle thinking outside of the proverbial Christian box.

You’ve probably already thought about some of this

Came across Steven’s “Susie Stitch” on TikTok describing this book and ran over here to listen to the answers. Currently decompressing from those answers and planning ways to enjoy the rest of the ride here 🏄‍♀️ 🌎.

As someone who was raised Catholic, studied the Bible with a non-denominational church, and has searched for meaning and answers through new age avenues, this book sort of pacified the confusion that anyone on a similar path would experience.

One thing I can say for sure is that I did, actually, find peace after the emotional storm I went through when some of the things I intuitively felt were confirmed through his account. The next steps for me are going to be 1. find with my long forgotten internal peace by rekindling my connection with the piece of god that lives within me. 2. Create the best possible experiences for myself and those I encounter because I can, and I why not make the rest of our time here fun?

Grateful for Steven’s trip/ NDE so that I wouldn’t have to go through one 😅

Diamonds Among Coal

There are multiple, controversial and compelling diamonds situated amongst this material. If you are familiar with the Law of One you will recognize some themes. If you are a fundamentalist Christian, who deep down have significant doubts, you will have to “endure till the end” and find what speaks to you. If you are agnostic or atheist you may enjoy this book greatly.

effiable!

A Remarkable book. This is my 5th listen.

I want to express my infinite gratitude to Joshua for sharing his experience.

I hope, no pray that Joshua writes the other two books he eluded to.

This story changed my life.

It requires a very open mind, and it definitely won't be for everyone (I guess no book on religion/spirituality is), but this "message from God" was the exact thing I needed to hear at the exact time I needed to hear it. I hope more people give it a chance. I suspect it will speak best to progressive Christians, and be seen as more heretical or annoying to religious fundamentalists and/or atheist thinkers. Nevertheless, it's a quick, fun read. I truly hope it means as much to some of you as it has meant to me.

A very different perspective on who God is

This book was just what I needed at this time. Being raised in a very fundamental Christian home I was taught that God was an angry God who was intent on punishing almost all of his creation because of their sins. This book portrays God as loving. Very refreshing!

Egoistic and boring

I am amazed not by the content of the story, but by the fact that someone would consider it worthy of a book. It's like a long boring drug-induced dream, interspersed with moralistic ponderings on Christianity and detailed dentistry narratives.
