About this listen

The product of over 20 years study.

Simply the clearest explanation of what God has revealed about Armageddon, and how to ensure that you avoid it.

Read in plain English what God has revealed concerning the end of the world, including:

  • The intense trial that is to come upon the world to clarify the faith of unfaithful Christians - And how we can avoid it.
  • The terrible trouble that is to come upon the world to prove the defiance of unrepentant people - And why they will not escape it.
  • The divine judgement that awaits every person to decide the destiny of all humanity - And exactly who will go where, when and why.

This is the book of Revelation reiterated and explained in plain English - All the metaphorical language is translated. All the informative interludes are clarified. And every who, what, where, when and why, is answered. Christ says that this trial, trouble and judgement will come upon the world abruptly, all of a sudden, without warning. Be informed, so that you can be prepared.

Whether you are a church leader, a Bible believer, or a person yet in search of the Truth, God’s Guide to the End Times will once and for all resolve any ignorance, misunderstanding, or curiosity, that you may have concerning God’s plan for the end times.

Great book

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I've always been interested in the Revelations, and this book provided it in a plain and simple text. It is something I will listen to more than once.

A Dispensational running commentary on the Book of Revelation

I like this kind of project. The author aims to explain each symbol and image you encounter as you are reading through the Revelation. There isn’t enough space or time in this kind of a project to explain or qualify as much as might be desired, but you get a good picture of a view of the end of the age which has much to recommend itself over and against more liberal interpretations.

I would differ somewhat on the timing of the rapture, seeing it as coidentical with Christ’s second coming which happens at the end of the seven year Great Tribulation, but the author didn’t try to do any fancy maneuvering to get out of the yet future literal, physical, visible millennial reign of Christ for one thousand years which chapter twenty so clearly teaches.

Well presented pretribulational premillennial program. If you want a slightly different angle, you might enjoy any of Joel Richardson’s books which are also available in Audible format.

Right there for you, plain and simple

This is a very good guide that lays it right out there plain and simple. Straight forward information about what is coming for our world. A book everyone should listen to and rethink how we are living and the choices we make every day. This is one of the few audiobooks I have that I will revisit, most likely several times. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. Thank you William Luke.

REVELATION IS AS FASCINATING AS EVER, GREAT STUFF

I think the Book of Revelations is the most awe-inspiring book of the Bible, and the reality of it is scarier than any horror movie I've ever seen, and that's saying something :) I enjoyed William's view and explanation of Revelation, it definitely helps me understand the Book more. Thought it was well-written and well-narrated, and I really enjoyed it.
God is GREAT! :)

Clear, Concise, Plain English

The book of Revelation presented in a way that's quite easy to understand, because it's simplified through interpretation of the often misunderstood or confusing symbolism inside its chapters (keep in mind while listening, the interpretation contained within, belongs to the author, and like most interpretations, not all who listen will agree). That said, it's definitely one to listen to if reading Revelation seems confusing, like to us non theologians out there.

I rather enjoyed this book, as I'm sure many others have. So, if you enjoy reading the Bible and learning its very important messages, but feel lost at times in the final book containing Apostle John's vision, then give this version a go and enjoy.

Come Lord Jesus, come! Amen.

Modern language with lots of opinion

In the same vein as Eugene Peterson’s The Message, William Luke has taken the Bible’s Book of Revelation and updated the language to modern language. It is definitely a ‘thought-for-thought’ style translation, not a “word-for-word” one, as it takes a verse or two at a time and modernises the language used. I enjoyed Luke’s style much more than Eugene Peterson’s (whom I’m using because he is the most common and best known example of this approach). It is straight forward and simple, without trying to be too modern and ‘cool’.

If this was where William Luke stopped, then this would be a really good resource. Unfortunately Luke cannot help but inserting a whole lot of opinion and speculation that simply is not in the text. He goes well beyond what is there, and it may not be clear to someone who is unfamiliar with Revelation as to what is updated language and which is opinion. There is items such as saying that the ten horns almost certainly are countries x,y and z of the European Union (including England, whom won’t be in the EU for much longer at all), or that a certain location is Petra, or suggesting that the Pope/Papacy is the antichrist.

There are other issues in the translation: such as ‘all the metaphorical language is translated’. The problem here is that some metaphors the exact meaning isn’t understood. The jury is still out on some, and the Author takes a very definitive view on some of them. Certain numbers have important means and when modernising the working Luke removes the meaning. For example the 12000 furlong cube of New Jerusalem is often thought that 12000s is about never-ending or perfection, a symbolic meaning. But when it is translated into a specific number of meters it loses that importance. The New Jerusalem becomes a literal cube of a city, rather than a symbol for renewal. Translation of all metaphorical language is not useful if the metaphor is lost.

William Luke may be right in his interpretation. He may be wrong. But here he gives no room for anyone to see any other opinion.

Also the blurb says that it includes a free chart, but this is not available for download from Audible, and I didn’t hear any email address or website mentioned where it could be fun d.

Narration by Chad Tindale is good. He is well paced and easy to understand. He puts energy into the recording and where there is action or events happening his tones reflect that.

I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator.
I was looking forward to a scholarly book and this was not.
