About this listen
An entertaining and inspirational memoir by the world’s most popular DIY expert and car aficionado, revealing how Rich Benoit went from buying a left-for-dead Tesla to becoming a successful entrepreneur.
People are fascinated by Tesla: the cars, the stock price, and especially its headline-grabbing CEO. Rich Benoit was the first YouTuber to pull back the curtain on the cult-like business model that is the Tesla company, and he’s personally battled its consumer-unfriendly business practices. In Going Fast and Fixing Things, Rich provides listeners with behind-the-scenes access not only to his Rich Rebuilds YouTube channel but to his off-camera life as well. Throughout his life, Rich has almost always been the proverbial “only Black guy in the room,” but despite the fact that online car culture—especially electric vehicle fandom—skews overwhelmingly white, he has become the most popular car rebuilding guy on the internet. His voice as a writer is funny and intimate and a little goofy—just like his video persona—but always tempered by a passion for the right to repair and a clear determination to create success for himself as well as for his fans. Going Fast and Fixing Things also includes tips to help listeners fix, drive, and buy their own cars, along with advice on how to defy the disposable-is-better consumerist ethos that saturates our current culture.
PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying PDF will be available in your Audible Library along with the audio.

It’s 2006. After a string of rejections from men who tell her they could never, ever, ever see her “that way,” awkward third-grade teacher Micaela Blei signs up for a mysterious course called “The Divine Feminine,” and feels like she might have found the key to the perfect life. Turns out if you’re an A student, you can get an A in anything–including men. Uncle Rich, don’t read this review
Before hearing Rich on a radio interview about his book, I never heard of him, but I love “car talk” and decided to get his book. I almost stopped reading it a few times because of the random transitions between topics. I hung in there and after I began to understand rich and his “mashed potato” insides, I really enjoyed the book. He talks about so many topics (cars, humor, cars, people, cars, children, cars, race) and has some valuable insights. If you start this book, don’t give up - hang in there and I bet you will enjoy it.

Rich hacks the human algorithm
An open and insightful story of a man trying to survive to support his family and passion. He breaks down his life decisions into easily consumable portions that flow nicely and reinforce his character and moral grounds. Rich's acknowledgements were a joy to listen to, I love it when people come together to produce great things.

Great book, more detail about Uncle Rich’s life
Good job uncle rich, well done. You motivate me. The response for people saying “good for you” is “you too” if you want to be nice about it.

Fun listen, great guy
Thanks for writing this book, Rich. There were fewer jokes than I expected, but your life story was worth telling seriously. Haven’t watch the channel in a while. I’ll forever treasure the first time I saw you online, using a steak knife. Keep doing what you enjoy!
