I wasn’t expecting this at all. There was spice, but the story was about love, self love, respect, sex, control, and much more… especially love… it’s a detailed origin story of a bdsm MMF couple that pinched at my heart several times. I absolutely adored it and look forward to finishing the series:)

I held this book in my wish list awhile afraid it might be the typical cliche MMF romance with no real depth,but so elated that I was so very wrong because it was such a great read with a very unique and different story to tell
I love how the author weaved us through the history of how it all began for them so the first part of the book doesn’t have much spice,but tells a great story of their journey
Now don’t get me wrong, this book is SPICY but I love how she developed the characters and allowed the reader to understand their life experiences so we can relate to the connection they eventually develop
It was good to see Owens development into his confidence as he was such a WUSS for so long but I grew to love him and understood how his childhood impacted his personality
Sousa was for me more of a side character in the story so looking forward to reading the next book in this series since the focus is on her
But Carter/Bastard Extroidinair, he is my favorite of all, easily a love hate feeling for him but he kept the 3 of them tight and strong and his character was written soooo very well… Bravo !!!
The narrator did an excellent job, wish it was 3 different voices but it didn’t take away from what this narrator brought to bring this story so strong to life.
I already miss these characters and was sad to get to the end, it was sooo intriguing all the way through!
So VERY worth the credit
