Grave witch Alex Craft can speak to the dead, and that makes her a dangerous enemy for anyone with something to hide....
Alex is still trying to come to terms with her changing powers and her growing ties to Faerie when a case she'd rather avoid falls right into her lap. A fae prince desperately needs Alex to investigate a politically sensitive murder. She reluctantly agrees to the case, taking FIB agent Falin Andrews along as her backup.
But as Alex begins to delve into the mystery, she realizes that the intricate web of alliances and intrigue in the Faerie courts is strained to its limits. War is about to break out, one that threatens to spill over into the mortal realm. This murder is tied right to the center of centuries-old arcane unrest, and if Alex isn't careful she may follow the twisting path ahead of her right into her grave end.
Contains mature themes.

I still enjoyed the book --I yearn for and rejoice every novel Kaylana Price writes, but this one made me wonder if she's not really enjoying her job so much anymore. But then, we *are* on book 6, so maybe it's just hard to think up new twists and turns.
If you're a Price fan --and if you're reading book 6, then you probably are-- then this read is a must. You just may feel this one's a little threadbare.
One more note: Can we please change the narrator for the next book? I think her robotic performance heavily influenced my feelings described above. I think I may have enjoyed it much more if I had been able to read the book myself. I think I'll try to remember that for book 7....
Plodding plot or robotic narration?

I absolutely loved this story. It had drama, action, pain, love, and secrets. Alexis aka Alex aka Lexi is still indebted big time to The Mender and he names a huge price. As if that wasn't enough, Alex has to thrawrt off another threat against the Winter Queen who is just as likely to kill her than to thank Alex for her efforts.
This story is full of Fae court drama and a few big surprises. Alex unearths a secret plot from the court Fae to gain more power... well actually every court is trying to gain more power. Some are just more clever than others.
My favorite line: No one is killing anyone in my office because Ms. Bee would have a fit over the mess. 😂
Short and to the point, but if you liked the series before then you should love this story. Some may not like the detailed journey Alex must take from Court to Court, but if you love the fae was much as I do, then you wont mind a bit.
This book puts an end to one of the main story arcs and though things escalate quickly, I feel it was well done.
This entire book is spent in Fairie. Though they are mentioned in conversation, any humans or characters not living in the courts aren't part of the story.
4 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟. Great book. I've become friends with the characters. This is for my top Tier books. The story is deep with many layers. I probably finished it in a day. I'll likely reread this one when I miss the characters or need a pick me up.
Good Fae, Bad Fae, Dark Fae, Light Fae!!!
