About this listen

Kate Malick, a former Carmelite nun turned security professional to the stars, is dedicated to protecting her clients. Celebrities are her specialty, and right now teenage celebutante and slow-motion train wreck Chelsea Brewer is testing Kate’s devotion. A poster child for the pitfalls of childhood fame and fortune, Chelsea is careening past the boundaries of “poor choices” and into the deep waters of self-destruction.

On LA’s mean streets, young lives are often cut short, and Chelsea’s is no exception. A large wager has been placed on her imminent demise and she’s disappeared. Forced underground in a desperate attempt to find her client, Kate searches the City of Angels’ darkest, deadliest corners, uncovering a tangled conspiracy of revenge and betrayal. But time is running out, and as Kate stares down the face of evil, she must quickly solve the puzzle and rescue Chelsea before the young girl’s prayers for help become her last.

Pretty good story and narration.

This was a pretty good psychological mystery/thriller. I enjoyed this book, it kept me listening and entertained. It was easy to follow along and not get confused. It all flowed very well and there was a lot of dialogue throughout the entire book.

I really liked Kate Malick's character. Yeah, she wasn't a very good nun. LOL She was smart and subtle with the quick wit. The bad guy did kill a lot of people in this book. He was really bad. Someone complained about the F bomb getting dropped a lot. There were several times it was dropped but considering the genre of the book it is absolutely expected/required. Had this bad guy not been cussing it would have made this book stupid. So in my opinion, thank for those F bombs!

As for the narration, it was very good. I really liked it. The men sounded like men and Kate's voice was awesome. Everyone got their own distinct voice and she read with emotion as called for. Her reading voice is nice too.

a little dry, but overall good book

Sometimes I really liked this book and at other times I didn't like it. at times it seemed all over the place and the things that happened aren't likely to happen in a crime novel in one night. Hard to explain, but overall a decent book.

Grave of Angels

What disappointed you about Grave of Angels?

Language, and the dropping of the F bomb, not needed to write a good book.

Another winner by Michael Prescott!

What made the experience of listening to Grave of Angels the most enjoyable?

In addition to the usual taut suspense and fast-paced action, I loved the mystery of the main character's past. A former nun, now a security agent, Kate Malick is a superb characters with plenty of mysteries of her own. I LOVED this book!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Grave of Angels?

The chase scene through the streets where Kate was helping Chelsea to escape - phenomenal!

What about Joyce Bean’s performance did you like?

I loved her voice, her interpretations of the words, and the way she changed for each character. What a dynamic range of voices!!! Well done!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was addicted to it!
