Raised in squalor in the marsh country of Kent, the orphan Pip is taken under the wing of the eccentric and reclusive Miss Havisham - only to blindly give his heart to the dowager’s beautiful but ice-cold adopted daughter, Estella. Even as a mysterious benefactor helps to shape Pip’s life into one of fortune, success, and self-discovery, the unspeakable secrets of his unrequited love continue to haunt him - and promise to change his life once again.

With its indelible cast of characters, immersive epic narrative, and startling dramatic twists, Charles Dickens’s powerful classic continues to enthrall generations of new listeners.

Classic clarity

I have embarked on a great American literature edification and decided to pick the title that literally stated my hopes. I can't believe it took me this long. I know we are all familiar with Dickens, his stories, characters and their adaptations. Bieber nothing prepared me for the sheer joy of listening first hand to his words. The language, the cadence, the thoughts expressed. I was whelmed.

Insightful to the last

The narrator was awesome and added a great deal to my understanding of this book. It is one of the best novels I’ve ever read. What a journey.

Not my favorite Dickens, but worth the listen

I got this through Amazon for a VERY reasonable price on the book/audio combination. I was pleasantly surprised by the narrator (for that $$ my expectations where not great, as it were).

It is Dickens. It is a classic. It is very much worth reading. It is not my favorite of his works (and Pip frankly gets on my nerves), but I would still say "go for it".

Excellent story, excellent narration.

Michael Page perfectly brings to life Dickens' dry wit and deeply human characters, lending a wondrous vivacity to this classic tale.

Better than reading it!

Had to read for school and I couldn't find the time to read it. That's when I turned to this audio book. It helped me through class.

Very good read 😊

My wife enjoyed reading this very much. The narrator has an entertaining approach. He uses
Different voices, accents, and dialect which distinguishes each individual character.

Wonderful Narration

A great story, but I don't know that I would have loved it as much without this narrator. He did such an amazing job.

Wonderful Performance

I thought Michael Page’s narration of this story was excellent. He had so many unique voices for all the characters. I particularly liked the voice for Pip. Also, the voice for Pip’s sister had me in stitches.
