About this listen

WARNING: CONTAINS ADULT CONTENT AND LANGUAGE

They’re back! The all-star cast multi-award-winning cult hit comedy returns, with more surreal goings-on in the lives and loves of the doctors and staff at East Hampton Hospital (warning: contains very little medical content).

Green Wing: Resuscitated picks up 12 years after the events of Green Wing, and it's all change at East Hampton Hospital... Guy Secretan (Stephen Mangan) has become a media personality, adding TV appearances and podcasts to his work as an anesthetist; 'Mac' MacCartney (Julian Rhind-Tutt) has returned from several near-death experiences to pick up as a surgeon, and Caroline Todd (Tamsin Greig) has been making waves in America as a medical pioneer. There have been promotions for both Harriet Schulenberg (Olivia Colman) who is now East Hampton's Head of HR, and Boyce (Oliver Chris), who has been made head of radiology. This doesn't mean that Alan Statham (Mark Heap) has left the hospital - while his killing spree with Joanna Clore (Pippa Haywood) lead to her being imprisoned, his lawyers got him off with a spell in psychiatric care, and he has returned to work under Boyce. Not everyone has changed circumstances, though - Sue White (Michelle Gomez) remains as East Hampton's staff liaison officer, and Martin Dear (Karl Theobald) is still not a doctor, despite having been training for the exams since we last saw him…

Starring: Oliver Chris as Boyce, Olivia Colman as Harriet, Pippa Haywood as Joanna, Mark Heap as Alan, Michelle Gomez as Sue White, Tamsin Greig as Caroline, Stephen Mangan as Guy, Julian Rhind-Tutt as Mac, and Karl Theobald as Martin.

Featuring: Margaret Cabourn-Smith, Lauren Douglin, Simon Kane, Lorelei Mathias, Oriane Messina, Will Sebag-Montefiore, Nimisha Odedra and Paul G. Raymond.

Green Wing: Resuscitated was created by Victoria Pile, and written by Victoria Pile, Robert Harley, James Henry, Oriane Messina & Fay Rusling.

Hilarious Resuscitation

Brilliant revival of the noughties comedy. The transition from screen to podcast works well. Even my 12 year old thought it was very funny - and I don’t think that was just because of the occasional F-bomb.

Fantastic scripting and acting

So much to love about this. Script and actors were superb. Olivia Coleman's character was one of my faves from the TV show and she's even better here, in both the writing and the acting. My only complaint is that it ends too abruptly. The plot was just getting thick and juicy and it ended. I hope there's another series planned, otherwise I'll be feeling very short-changed. it's easy to open a can of worms - the truly interesting thing is how it's resolved. As it is, the ending felt like a cheap trick.

Please tell me there will be more!

I had long since given up hope that we'd ever receive more seasons of what's easily one of the greatest (yet inexplicably criminally underrated) British ensemble comedy series. So absolutely everything about these six audio episodes feels like an outrageous gift.

As excited as I immediately was to find out this was happening, I also wondered how on earth they could capture the same madcap magic without the visual comedy and video editing artistry. Oh, but they did - thanks to this outstanding cast, who seem to have slipped effortlessly back into their respective characters, writing that's as sharp and hilarious as ever, and brilliant audio engineering. Bravo!

I recognize that reassembling this stellar cast was no mean feat. But now that they've proven it can be done without missing a beat, please tell me that we'll eventually get more. I want... a bushel.

I didn't they could do it...

I was deeply suspicious of an audio version of the amazing tv series, but bloody hell it works. Well done, you juvenile capering idiots.

Brilliant revisit

Loved this. Was so surprised when I discovered that GreenWing was back and with the original cast! Loved the original show on TV and always thought it was one of the most underrated comedy shows but it finished at the right time as it did “jump the shark” in the final series! - with a stellar cast to boot who all went on to greatness. To get them back after years is brilliant.
I think it probably helps I knew the characters so well but the quality and intelligence of the humour shines through with Mark Heap still my favourite even though you can’t see his physical clowning.
Brilliantly acted and performed, great script,
Loved it. Thank you to all involved.

A favourite returns to form

Didn’t think this would ever return, & given it was such a visual show, I was skeptical, but I just loved this.

Great story lines, brilliantly delivered lines (of a good script) & the music tying it all back together / just brilliant.

The actors were perfect

Amazing find, didn't know this was out. Brought back memories (need to Rewatch the Shows). This came to a end too soon, hope there is more coming
