About this listen

Today, the people of Earth believe that humanity has yet to conquer the stars. They are wrong.

Dan Kalendis is a hunter assigned to Earth, tasked with finding and removing evidence of humans from other worlds. On a mission to recover sensitive information, Dan suddenly finds himself outmatched and outmanoeuvred by an old enemy—an enemy who is determined to bring Earth into their interstellar realm, no matter the cost. Their presence means only one thing: war is coming.

Short on allies and far from home, Dan faces tough odds. But he wasn’t always a hunter. Once, he was a great warrior, a guardian of his own world. Now he must become a guardian once again, but this time, to a world that doesn’t know he exists.

I would read this again

The storyline is inventive and the narrator acts out the different characters very well and engages the audience. At the end of the book, I definitely wanted to read some more by this author, as well as delve deeper into the worlds he created. 10/10.

Well-written and Intriguing

The story is:
Earth has been - and is being - invaded by bad guys from space. Thankfully, Dan, a good guy from space, is watching. He is big and very strong, but blends in with humans. Dan’s job is to evaluate and expel aliens who don’t have permission to be here.
That’s it. Simple, right?
Enter Lucy, who is some kind of pawn in the extraterrestrial conflict. Dan must find her and get her to his home base. The whole task is illegal, but has to be figured out.
Tense action scenes, believably conveyed, draw the reader in, while the story line develops.
Winsomely, tough Dan hates to kill…will not allow innocent bystanders to be collateral damage.
I love that there are few cuss words. Good story and good reader.

Pretty interesting retroping

Reader is good in general, gentle rich tone throughout, a more engaging bob ross quality to the reader.
Story itself is interesting, nothing new but could ramp up into something more substantial in later sequels. Think Star Wars with most of the focus on combat and weapons and less on metaclorians. Nano tech was interesting and the overall background plot seems to be the most interesting teases portion of the book. The geopolitical aspects of the book have some sound grounding in the Star Trek philosophy of not interfering with the less forward progressed earthlings. Give it a go if you like military space sagas. PS British space villains, yes please.

Immersive, Engaging, and Unexpected Twists

People on Earth don't realize there are other planets with other people. They don't realize that space travel and bases and hyper gates are a normal part of life for people from these other planets. They don't realize how close they have come to being taken over, or liberated, depending on which side is telling the story. And they don't realize there are guardians watching to make sure rules of engagement aren't broken.

The author, George Lindsay, wonderfully tells this action-filled sci-fi story from the point of view of Dan Kalendis, who is assigned to keep Earth from knowing about these other planets and people. The story has some excellent unexpected twists, and his writing makes you feel the intensity of the situation the characters find themselves. Lindsay did an excellent job at building these other worlds' histories, and technology.

Jarrod Taylor, the narrator, does an excellent job at narrating the story and voicing each of the characters. His narration immerses the listener into the story and makes the listener feel the tense situations in the book.

The audio quality is excellent.
