About this listen

An elite unit. A dark secret. Can they stop interstellar war before it starts?

Hex Thorn, a hard-bitten veteran of the elite Special Operations Unit of the Dominion Empire, was content with retirement. He’d seen his share of firefights and bloodshed in a bitter war that ripped the galaxy apart.

But when an enigmatic stranger makes him an offer he can’t refuse–a chance to own a legendary Lancer ship–Hex is thrust back into the fray.

His mission?

Hunt down the elusive Dr. Attica Tharand, a person whose secrets could shatter the galaxy’s fragile balance of power.

Hex must reassemble his old Special Ops team, a ragtag crew of soldiers as skilled as they are unpredictable. But they soon find out they aren't the only ones after the doctor.

With galactic tension on the razor’s edge, Hex will need all his grit, guile, and gunfire to uncover the truth about his target and those who wish him caught.

Shadow Watch is the start of a pulse-pounding interstellar adventure from the minds of Brandon Ellis and Max Wolfe. Buckle up for this high-stakes military sci-fi adventure where the line between friend and foe is as blurred as the starlines in hyperspace.

Alliances will be tested, friendships will be forged, and through the darkest of trials, heroes will be born!

The story ARC was intriguing! And Dark

My response to the first half of the book was purdy lackluster. I soon lost interest in the MC, but the ARC still intrigued me. Still Peter Berkrot's narration is easy to listen to. The storyline turned sideways and invested a great deal of time in gladiatorial style ring fighting. Which definitely is not my favorite trope. And finally after having escaped from there. He’s waiting trial and execution... It's like watching someone beat a dead animal, sigh... So even though I know somewhere in this book, his luck has'ta turn around. I had to put the book down for awhile... a long while.
I've got up the gumption and girded my loins... And now I'm ready start the second half. Hopefully it gets better. DNF or Bust... Yeah, it starts easing up on Hex almost immediately. It's still a very dark story with lots of violent action. Plus I absodamnlutely hated the antagonist. The ending was even good enough that I ended up smiling.
