USA Today best seller

A Master Chief story and original full-length novel set in the Halo universe - based on the New York Times best-selling video game series!

October 2559. It has been a year since the renegade artificial intelligence Cortana issued a galaxy-wide ultimatum, subjecting many worlds to martial law under the indomitable grip of her Forerunner weapons. Outside her view, the members of Blue Team - John-117, the Master Chief; Fred-104; Kelly-087; and Linda-058 - are assigned from the UNSC Infinity to make a covert insertion onto the ravaged planet Reach.

Their former home and training ground - and the site of humanity’s most cataclysmic military defeat near the end of the Covenant War - Reach still hides myriad secrets after all these years. Blue Team’s mission is to penetrate the rubble-filled depths of CASTLE Base and recover top-secret assets locked away in Dr. Catherine Halsey’s abandoned laboratory - assets which may prove to be humanity’s last hope against Cortana.

But Reach has been invaded by a powerful and ruthless alien faction, who have their own reasons for being there. Establishing themselves as a vicious occupying force on the devastated planet, this enemy will soon transform Blue Team’s simple retrieval operation into a full-blown crisis. And with the fate of the galaxy hanging in the balance, mission failure is not an option....

Halo book for Halo fans

The narrator is great. . . that is if you like to imagine every male, female, and alien character sounds like as a ninety-year-old man. And then there was the one part that he sounded like Gollum from LOTR. Story was nice, but felt like some details were removed due to the delay of Halo Infinite, but still pretty good. Not as great as the fall of reach, ghosts of onyx, contact harvest, or my all time fave First Strike, but still better than the forerunner novels. Pick it up if you’re a fan of the aforementioned novels in the halo series because they have a lot of throwbacks to the games and books.

Very good but left one thing out.....

NO MENTION OF NOBLE SIX?!?! They mention noble TEAM but not the main man himself! I would give five stars but I was praying for a nod to the only other HYPER lethal Spartan there was AND the reason cortana got to the pillar of autumn in the first place. But over all great book

Great Blue Team Story, Good Narration

One of my favorite blue team stories, and chiefs humanity is a nice touch. Good overall narration, but not my favorite voices for characters. Definitely a listen for Halo fans.

new hype train for Halo infinity.

A nice return to action, Master Chiefs passion for humanity, and a new mystery of Halsey and her new technology for the future of Halo.

Must read for OG Halo fans.

We go back to where it all began. If you like the novel Fall of Reach then this book is for you. Great lead-in to Halo Infinite.

My opinion as a die hard halo lover

Story narrator preformed nicely but still not good enough for the voice of the master chief.

Excellent

I read a few reviews here before listening to the audiobook which complained about the narration. Though I do love Brick's narration of other titles, I found Hopkins' narration enjoyable and entertaining. The pronunciation of a few names and locations were a little jarring for me, but overall a great performance. The story is fantastic and worth a listen.
