Good

This was book 4 in the "Pier 70" Roan Gregory, one of the four owners of Pier 70 Marina, has managed to paint himself as a loner in recent months. There is a reason for that he is hiding the fact and his drug addicted sister Cassie just had a baby after using while being pregnant. Cassie was mean and ungrateful she didn't want his help when he moved in with her after everyone in his family gave up on her she said some mean things to him. While at a bar he meets Colton "Seg" Seguine, defenseman for the Austin Arrows NHL team. These two hit it off and they hook up and have a hot sweaty one-night stand. Fourteen months later guys attend a game and get to meet the players and Seg is surprised to find his hot one-night stand as one of the guys that the team owner Phoenix introduces him too. When Roan gets home, he finds his sister dead of an overdose he is shocked and saddened and blaming himself for not being there with her and his nephew Liam who is a month old. I liked both of these characters each one was afraid to let the other in. Seg had his career to worry about and Roan was so used to not letting others in to help him including his best friend Cam. I loved that Seg wasn't willing to give Roan up and when he meets Liam he falls in love with the baby. I loved Seg mother when he came out to her, she just wanted him to be happy. I hated Roan's stepmother she was a real piece of work. When a reporter gets wind of his boyfriend Seg freaks out and does something stupid, but it forces him to come out. Seg knows what he wants and its Roan he wants a family. I loved when Seg put Lydia in her place, and I loved it. I also loved that the guys were there to help them. This book was well written with no errors in spelling or grammar. I am looking forward to reading about Milly and AJ.

Misunderstanding

People who don’t want to see that happiness for others is usually different from person to person that is why we are all different! Couldn’t imagine everyone in the world being the same! Sad

Just ok

I probably won’t get another book from the author. The story had potential but the connection between the characters was lackluster and jumping to view points from characters from other books was a little confusing. Also there was a random political rant in the middle from the mom about players kneeling in the NFL that was completely irrelevant and felt like the author was trying to make a point. No thanks.
