Is a libertarian rant

I usually like Poul Anderson, And the story was interesting up to a point. Then he took off on a rant About environmental issues, and other libertariam issues. If I had wanted a political book. I would have bought one I have no intention of finishing this sorry it's Not really science fiction. And we will o k

No Bueno. Hope the rest of the series goes better.

Reads like an essay someone tried to stretch for their minimum word count by using the word "bueno" hundreds of times. A ton of blatant exposition, much of it unnecessary. Many of Poul Anderson's books have a future-written-in-the-seventies vibe, and this is no exception. I'm not even sure this counts as sci-fi, since it's mostly a disjointed fugitive/social commentary/ scenery description.

What is wrong with people?

Anyone who has reviewed this without finishing it, has nothing to stand on. Stop reviewing books you personally can't finish. This is an amazing book and even better series. "I got to chapter two and quit, this book sucks". Grow up. haha

I only got to chapter 2ish so...

Very modern day political immediately and very America centric. Listen I don't hate America but ugh this was to much. The beginning also had very thinly veiled exposition dumps disguised as bad dialogue that calls itself out but that doesn't forgive exposition dumps. I bet it gets better but I couldn't make it there.
