A little over the top on the “I hate him” theme but it was a cute story overall.

Remy has just been passed up for a promotion. A promotion that should have been hers. Making matters worst, the person who was chosen, is her nemesis, Justin. Justin and Remy used to be really close but his father caused a lot of trouble. Remy hates Justin and working together is going to be interesting, to say the least. Eventually, Remy and Justin give in to their passion. Interesting characters with a few BDSM scenes thrown in. The narrator was easy to listen to and made me interested in the characters.

While Meghan Kelly does a good job with playing both male and female voices, it would be better to have both a male and female narrator. Her voice for one of the characters, Blair, is a bit odd- halting and unnatural but I think it was meant to be. It was just a little odd to listen to! But then again, Blair is a very odd character too :)

This is a second chance romance- Remy and Justin were close friends when they were younger but their fathers had a falling out (Justin’s father is awful). Now they are grown up and Justin becomes Remi’s boss, taking a position that Remi feels should be hers. Throw in a client, who is a big deal, who forces them to work together, and they need to figure out a way to get along. Personally, I think that Remi was a bit too unprofessional, which bothers me extensively, as a working woman.

They finally do learn about what is important and there are some steamy parts when these two couldn’t stop themselves from coming together. They have to overcome the past and learn more about what happened from the other person’s perspective. These characters were good and the book was enjoyable, especially when the author gives us more perspective on their developing emotional relationship. Also, descriptors of the environment, especially Blair’s compound is great- truly escapism. Blair is so odd but yet, towards the end, really kind of endearing.

I love this story of friends to enemies to lovers, with light BDSM, romance. BB Hamel knows how to write romance sprinkled with just enough angsty feelings, forgiveness, steam, and never forgetting the happily ever after.

Remy and Justin grew up together and were extremely close. When Justin's father does the unthinkable and gets rid of his partner, who is Remy's father, things get sticky. The childhood friends are forced to part and turn into enemies. Fast forward about 15 years - Remy works for a prestigious ad agency and has buster her bum to get where she is, hoping she lands the director position that opens up. She is in for a surprise when Justin shows up as her new boss.
There is resentment and Remy has no issues telling Justin how she feels about the whole set up - but the chemistry is undeniable when they are forced to go to Hawaii and work together to land a huge VR client. Will they be able to leave the past where it needs to be left or will it drive them further apart? You are going to have to listen to see.

Meghan Kelly brings both Remy and Justin to life wonderfully - she portrays the emotions of each character and makes the story even more enjoyable

I totally loved this one! This was my first by this author and it will not be my last! I love how I never really knew what was going to happen next! I loved the relationship between Justin and Remi, they give the right amount of angst, humor and holy hotness! The narration was really good!

A little of this and a little of that and this story is combined into a fun and entertaining listen! This is my first BB Hamel book, and I loved it. Remi Brooks and Justin Hays were best friends growing up until Justin unexpectedly severed their friendship. Now he is her boss and due to a crazy, but important client, the two have to work closely together. This friends to enemies to lovers has just enough heat, just enough angst and just enough quirkiness(yes, I love Blair, the eccentric client) blended together making this a great story. There are times that Remi is a little over the top with her feelings, and Justin would frustrate me too, but in the end, but these are tell tale signs that I was invested in the story and could not wait to reach the satisfying conclusion! I look forward to more by BB Hamel.

Meghan Kelly narrates this story and I can't tell you how good it is. Her voices are always great, easy to distinguish, but I have to say that this one is one of my favorites. She creates a character in Blair that is perfect for her, to the point that you can picture her in your mind and know that voice would be coming out of her mouth! I loved it!

Remi and Justin were childhood friends, and their fathers were business partners. Justin’s father cheated Remi’s Dad by taking credit for for a major project they were working on. He also gave Justin an ultimatum: his money or continue to stay friends with Remi. Justin chose to cut Remi out of his life with no explanation.
Imagine learning you are getting a new boss. And in walks Justin. Remi is livid about losing her boss, and especially the fact That Justin is the replacement! Remi hates him, but is forced to work with him on an account for an eccentric client named Blair, who they can’t seem to please. They must work together , or they will lose the account! Things are not quite as they seem, and truths are revealed. I enjoyed the book for the most part, but Remi’s inner dialog was a bit graphic for me!

I've read many of B.B. Hamel's books, but this is her first audiobook and she did not disappoint! This could-be-typical enemy-to-lovers romance has twists and turns to keep you listening and Meghan Kelly does a wonderful job with the narration. If you like hot, steamy angst with a happy ending, this is the one for you! Well worth the one click or credit. I'll definitely seek out other books by the narrator! 🎧 Audiobook Obsession

I will admit I had some struggles with this ennemies to lovers second chance love storie, it held some Dom/sub form of bdsm, there was an instance where it may even qualify as dub-con however this was not what gave me the struggle for me it lay on the amount of hate for the Hero's father while I can agree he was a horrid man some forgiveness at the very least from his son would have made this better for me if only because the man tried in the end.

I did enjoy it, there was plenty of passion between this couple and their only real obstacle was to clear a misunderstanding from their past.

narration was perfection she was new to me and she blew me away.
