About this listen

Welcome to the comprehensive audio program to imagery therapy for: The Common Cold, Bone Fractures, Arthritis, Hypertension, Headaches, Asthma, Infertility, Depression, Anxiety, Obesity… and Much More!! For years it has been widely known that the mind exerts a tremendous influence on our physical wellbeing - often determining the difference between health and disease.

In Healing Visualizations, Dr. Gerald Epstein, a psychiatrist and pioneer in waking dream therapy, provides a new vision of how the mind can help heal the body through the power of "imaginal medicine." Developed over thirtyfive years of clinical practice, Dr. Epstein’s safe, potent techniques for tapping the mind’s healing energy enable us to influence our own health with remarkably fast, positive results. More than seventyfive exercises cover specific health problems from common ailments such as allergies, colds, backaches, headaches, and arthritis to life threatening illnesses such as heart disease and cancer. Each exercise takes just one to five minutes. And there are special visualizations for overall wellness that you can personalize to fit your own daily health and fitness needs.

A revolutionary and inspiring program, Healing Visualizations is a major contribution to understanding, restoring, and maintaining the healthful unity of body and mind.

Excellent healing recommendations

This book gave me many new ideas for self healing. It's expansiveness covered enough topics to find and apply what I needed in my own experience.

An easy read...

Well written and clearly understandable.
Try it, you’ll like it: even if you know the topic, the author both summarizes and gives good examples.

Too many disorder exercises

The author didn’t read the book as in the preview. They had one of these professional readers with an annoying voice who sounded robotic. I would have preferred more theory on this method and more information about creating your own visualizations - after all, I thought that was the point. Instead the bulk of the book were prescribed visualizations about various disorders. Such as, see yourself with 8 very long arms floating in the sea.

Several Scary visualizations

It’s very puzzling why someone would write a book on healing and use imagery that conjures up scary pictures and feelings such as being an octopus or wrapping yourself and mummy bandages and crawling into a coffin. No thanks. Wonderful visualizations could really help but these actually make things worse. Now I need a happy safe feeling visualization to get all the over these creepy ones. Not sure what he was thinking. Finally had to shut off and delete from audible.

Not what I was expecting

I did not expect one boring case study after another. The exercises at the end kept this from being 1 star.
