Publisher's summary

Sharing a life with Jay Brenner is everything Shayne hoped it would be: date nights out, mornings sleeping in, and full access to his heart, body, and mind. Life would be perfect...if there weren't half a dozen underworld villains who want them dead. They can't step one foot outside without somebody trying to kill them. The Detroit underworld is lethal for even the most powerful beings, so how in the world will Shayne be able to protect a mere human? If vampires and demons don't kill her, the constant worrying will. Everybody knows that love always comes with risk, but c'mon, this is ridiculous.

To make matters worse, Brenner discovers a major clue in the case of the revenants who killed his sister, and now there's no stopping him from picking a fight they can't possibly win. Shayne's first instinct is to run and hide, to stay out of sight. But as deadly threats, both old and new, begin to pile up, she must accept the hard truth: The only way to have any kind of life with Brenner is to stop running, face their enemies head on, and end this fight. All Brenner wants is to avenge his sister, no matter the cost, but for Shayne, the only success that matters is for Brenner to still be alive when the dust settles.

Contains mature themes.

Fav in the series..so far!

I love this series, it gives me all the feels! Shayne is pretty relatable, aside from the whole shifter thing. She wears her emotions on her sleeve while pretending she is a lone fox. She can bluff for a while but her ADHD causes her to lose sight of the endgame, and she shows her hand in hilarious ways. I have laughed out loud too many times with other people around while listening to her shenanigans. But then I would be tearing up not long after. and holding my breath later on, from all the action and high speed chases. Can't hardly wait for the next book!

Awesome series

I love this series. The author put a little bit of everything in her books. I like books that have suspense and humor. Plus a little love put in.

Solid 5 Stars

This book was amazing! Please tell me there is another one! I listened to it straight through. So much character crossover. The story was captivating from start to finish. The performance was excellent. I feel that this was most certainly the best out of the three books thus far.

Bring back Chandra Skyye!!!

Chandra Skyye IS Shane Davies. The story just isn't the same without her. Whoever thought it was a good idea to change narrators and have Mia Madison tell the story ought to be fired. This is the first book I've ever heard her narrate and I will never buy another. Most of the time I could not tell the difference between characters because they all sounded the same. Sometimes a male characters voice would be slightly lower or slightly rougher but that was it. That was the only difference and it was only about a third of the time. I was extremely excited to listen to this book but I couldn't even make it past chapter ten because the narration was THAT AWFUL. I highly recommend that the producers re-record this book with the original narrator, or at the very least, with a good narrator. You'll sell more audiobooks that way.
