About this listen

By day, Cade works as a mechanic. By night, he's the drummer for a popular nightclub band. Music has always been his greatest love and biggest dream. That is, until Cade meets Dylan. For Dylan, working as head bartender for Club Khronos is the ultimate job opportunity. There's no way he could've foreseen how torturous the position would become.

Six months of craving Cade has driven Dylan insane. No matter what he tries, Dylan can't get a clear read on Cade. When Cade does finally make his move, Dylan realizes a fate worse than never having the man of his dreams - being kept a secret.

Oh My... this was great!

Dang!! This was just great... I so hope there will be a book 2 and 3.... book 2 for the singer and book 3 for the twins... Too bad this was only an hour listen.. So dang good for a m/m rock romance...

Narration was nothing spectacular but definitely well worth the listen. Worth a buy, it is under 5 bucks... yes to sale not to credit... save your credit for something a bit longer...

Well... I still like bands... with drummers...

I'm nothing if not honest about my feelings so when I say that I was not really 'feeling' this book, I really mean it.

Oh Charity... I don't know if the other books in this series were this uneventful, but I can't imagine reading any more of them... although I do want to know how/when Hawk and Maddox end up together, I can't see myself spending $ on another of these books.

I think I get caught purchasing these $4.86 audiobooks because the price is right, but 7 out of 10, the books are dead wrong, and I need to get my money back. Thank goodness the majority of them are only a couple of hours long, otherwise I would have to smack myself upside the head.

Anyway, the story is about a drummer, I forgot his name... Cade, I think and the bartender.. I think he's Will, anyway... let me sum this up in two sentences. The two dudes like one another, sleep together, but don't know how to communicate-- outside of the bedroom-- and have a mini fight, but end up together... forever. Oh wow. I did that in 1 sentence. I rock.
Sadly, this book did not. Save your credit and money.

Happy Reading!

I LOVE this series!

Would you listen to Heart's Beat again? Why?

Oh Yes! This one is going to be one that I listened to over and over.

Have you listened to any of Hollie Jackson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Hollie Jackson always does an amazing job. Combine that with a Charity Parkerson story and you've got a hit. Any story that is written and then narrated by these two ladies is always worth it.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, and I did listen to it in one sitting.

Any additional comments?

I have adored this series since I read Heart's Beat when it first came out. This is Cade & Dylan's story and it gives the reader an introduction to all the guys that make up the band Ugly Eternity. Hollie's portrayal of the guys is just how I imagined them when I read the books, which isn't always the case when a reader loves a series.

Heart's Beat

Short story of two lover finding their way toward each other.
Both characters fight their attraction until they can’t fight it any more. It’s sweet that they tried but attraction isn’t something that you can fight against for long.
I like that we kind of get 2 stories into one, or I should say a glimpse into what the next one might be about.
Great narration.

Female narrator for MM book?

I could only take it for 15 mins before I gave up trying to listen for the 3rd time. Assigning the narration of an MM book to a female narrator seems to sum up how much care went into this one. So far every character was male and the narration seemed so stupid, trying to put on a low voice. I can't assess how good or bad the story is, of course. I can only recommend skipping this one.

wrong narrator

What didn’t you like about Hollie Jackson’s performance?

Hollie Jackson seems to be a good narrator, but she has a girly girl voice. Although the author & much of the intended audience may be female [and not all male M/M narrators are good] for a M/M Rock/bar romance her voice is just WRONG. I'd give her one star but she actually knows both how to pronounce words & how to narrate. For another type of book I'd give her a three [I'm never going to love her voice even in a better context]
