About this listen

I thought having my diploma as a Magical Engineer would be the answer to all my problems, but I couldn't have been more wrong.

In an attempt to take down the resistance, I became their target. Now I have no MET, no home, and the entire world thinks I'm dead. Hidden, I need to find a way to flush out the mole who has wormed his way into AMIA. That's the only way I'll have my life and freedom back.

If only things were so easy.

To make things even more complicated, the Arcane heirs keep popping up left and right with their sexy good looks and hard abs. They're a distraction I should try to avoid, but can't quite resist. When did my chaotic life become so hectic?

Hectic is book two of the Arcane Mage series, a reverse-harem romance intended for adult audiences.

love this series

T.S. Snow is an amazing author, I love this storyline and can't wait for the next audiobook. The characters come to life with these narrators, they do a wonderful job!

4.5 stars from me 😊

I am really enjoying this series so far! I do think I liked book 1 more than this sequel, but I thought this had a lot of good moments and there was some plot movement that helped keep the overall story interesting.

I loved Blaze in this one, but he needed to curb the possessiveness. I love the heat and banter he had with Char but he needs to learn to share gosh darn it! I was shaking my head at him so much even though I loved him. I also hated the end for him. I feel for him so badly (more in my book 3 review I just posted haha). I was happy to see some check-ins with some of the other guys. I loved that Char went to Bast at the end despite her fear of meeting up with him in book 1. I know he is gonna be one of my favs of the story! I loved seeing how devastated he was with Char and needing to get to spirit after he thought he lost her with the explosion. He was one of the only ones that felt genuine and kept trying to get Char to respond to him. Dang Christian and his logic about keeping her “dead”.

I also am digging Blair and her personality and relationship she is building with Char hahaha. The flirty banter was hilarious and I enjoyed their moment with Char’s apartment and having to get in and out and defend themselves. Loved the illusion magic as well. I am so happy we got some Andres in this one! I know he is a softie underneath his flirty ladies man vibe and I cannot wait to see him and Char in the future! His relationship with Blair was hilarious as well, as siblings often are 🤣.

I felt for Char in this one, with her recovery, being tied up by her boss and not being able to really leave. I would have gone stir crazy too. I thought she handled it well in retrospect haha, but I also liked that she escaped/was able to get out of there and have some fun and intense adventures. The confrontation and moments with the one Arcane heir family was fast paced and awesome. I am glad she listened to the message and got there in time. I also liked that Theo helped her out. I do wish we got some closure on what was going on with her phone/why no one was answering in her time of need though. That was never answered (was someone messing with her phone?).

Logan disappointed me in this small part in this one. Like he doesnt feel like he cares at all, so right now I don’t want him the harem, even if I loved how he kissed her in book 1 and wants to take control 😉🤩. I like that we are getting some hints with the rebellion but I do wish we got more so we could get fully immersed in this world. Right now I feel like I am more into the relationships and I loved to have a mix of both to be honest.

Narration was good, I felt the pain and anguish the characters felt regarding Char’s injury and supposed death. I wanted to hug Bast through my phone I was listening to the audiobook on! I loved the levity Blair and Char brought and could hear in the narrators voices. I still don’t think either of these 2 narrators are in my top 5 but they do a good job. I wish their opposite voices (gender) were stronger though, but that is my only complaint.

Good sequel, 4.5/5 stars from me (still like book 1 more with 5 stars) ❤️

Great Series

I'm really enjoying the story's, Good consept, interesting people and great sex scenes! totally love Athena George! however the male narrator is very one note, his characters all sound the same. It's makes for a disjointed performance from that of Athena. Luckily the story is mostly from Char's perspective, so it's only mildly irritating to me.

Hectic

This is not a standalone book, you must listen to book one, Chaos first! Poor Charisma has a very difficult time playing dead and staying hidden. This book does have some heartbreak towards the end, that will leave you wanting book three. The narrative is on point and excellent with bringing this book to life!

Another Great Installment

Charisma is awesome. Honestly who i wish i was. Her inner monolog is hilarious, the clumsiness is GOLD, and the fact she loves gaming makes me happy. I love that Char is powerful in her own right. She may not have a lot magic, but she knows how to use the tools that she does have. She’s also brilliant.

Hectic starts shortly after the end of Chaotic with Char's building being blown up and everyone thinking she is dead. we soon find out she is in the hospital and Theo is there with her.

Lets talk Harem
my front runner currently is Bast even tho we don't see much of him in this book. He was the only one that seemed genuinely hurt by the thought of her death. Maybe Theo but i still don't like him.
Andres would currently be my second, there is something about his personality and the way that he sees Char that just endears me to him.
now for the other two Logan was a bit of a disappointment but i honestly think that's because we haven't seen him enough. i have a feeling he will steal my heart very soon
The Jury is still out on Theo. there is a lot of past history there and until we hear the whole back story i don't know if i can like him but we shall see
last but not least Blaze. He's so annoying. There were definitely some endearing moments but they were overshadowed with him being a possessive D*ck and not in a good way. he acted like he OWNED her. That was not okay. they were barely dating and not even exclusive and his posturing got old really fast. Bro that is not attractive.

I LOVE Blair. I'm obsessed. I hope we get to see so much more of her. Maybe her own story? The world building is interesting. The magic system is cool and it interesting to be able to differentiate between battle magic and technological magic. I could read book after book set in this world. I feel like there is so much potential

The narration was phenomenal. I could almost feel the emotion through the audio. Highly recommended

Mystery, Men & Magic!

I am enjoying this series MUCH more than I anticipated. I adore the main character and the giggles she provides - very relatable. The plot keeps you guessing and while it can get a bit overwhelming at a new character popping up on a constant - the storyline keeps the reader advancing into the mystery. I also like that the narration toggles back from female to male voiceover.

Starting to be too silly

There is a point where a little goofy/ awkwardness gets ridiculous... and this book crosses that line.

The main character is getting to the point where she is making this series hard to finish. For example, who sleeps completely nude in a house that isn't their own especially when they are sharing it with strangers? The answer is, Nobody!

Also, she is supposed to be a secret agent but doesn't know the basics? I know more about investigating from watching Law and Order than these "agents".

And last but not least, when a woman is DYING in her lap, this main character is smelling the lady's sweater and thinking about sex with an Ex. 🤔 Um. She is coming across like a sociopath.

I hate to start series without finishing so I'm gonna give Book 3 a chance.
