Publisher's summary

It's lonely being the queen of the dead. Hela longs for a life among the living and a chance at love. When Loki grants her wish, she's elated...only to discover later that even a trickster god's daughter isn't safe from his deceit. How can she learn to adapt to life on Midgard if her presence disrupts the balance of life and death?

Björn the Untouchable requires a wife...but isn't in a hurry to find one. Escaping the festivities of Yule, he discovers a naked woman in the middle of the forest. Something about her isn't quite right, and having the same name as a death goddess is a bad omen to be sure. Nevertheless, he's completely enchanted by her.

Hela has only 12 days of the Yule celebration to remain human, but otherworldly threats linger. Can she find true love in the arms of a Viking warrior in the land of the living, or will she be the cause of an entire village's destruction? Only Loki knows, but he's not one to share his schemes....

Interesting Tale!

Insteresting Paranormal Romance. Intriguing characters, and original storyline. Surprising Epilogue. The narration was good. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily written this review.

Truly Enjoyed!

Spoilers ahead! Really cute and feel-good tale to spend an evening enjoying. Superb writing with lots of clever humor. Loved learning about Hela as previously I knew nothing of her. My only complaint is that I want more! I would love to learn more about Hela and Bjorn’s life together. Highly recommend!

Sweet paranormal romance

Hela Takes a Holiday is a well written sweet paranormal romance. I loved the idea of Loki having a daughter and her being strong. Loki is a trickster God so be careful what you wish for and make sure you phrase it correctly or else. The plot was phenomenal and kept me intrigued and entertained enough to finish this book.
I received this audiobook upon my request and I am glad I did. I loved the narrator and the story. I am leaving my honest review here voluntarily of my own volition.

Nice little Norse fable & love story

It’s a bit on the mild side and could have used more action, banter, and personality for Bjorn and Hela.
But the spin on Norse and Greek gods was entertaining. There’s one not too explicit interlude about two thirds of the way in. The audio had occasional stray background noise.

Loved it!

I so loved this and was actually sad when it was over. Loved Hela and Björn the Untouchable. Glad the author ended their love story the way she did. Narrator did a great job. I received this for free for an honest review.

Poor Hela... lol

This is the first book I’ve read of this author and I must say, I enjoyed it. It’s a little out of the scope of my “Normal” reads but it kept my attention and was enjoyable. Plus we have gods, tricksters and a little chaos. What’s not to like?

Hela, daughter of Loki just wants a little time away from her captive life. A little exploration of what’s outside of her frozen home. She gets it but I’m not sure she was prepared for what she really got. The story was quick and cute with a side of hilarity, though that could have just been me and my wicked sense of humor.

I think it’s a good read for anyone wanting a few laughs with a good story to go with them. And again, Loki... lol

Cute little story

This is a cute little story. I enjoyed it and didn’t know what would happen next. The antics that Loki pulled off were annoying but fun. I did listen to this on audio and Jane Rothschild did a good job.

Hela Takes a Holiday

Be careful what you ask for when dealing with Loki, the trickster god. Hela wants to experience what life is like as a human... she has a few tricks of her own up her sleeve.

Rebekah Lewis came up with a cute paranormal romance that left me satisfied. I loved the ending!

Jane Rothschild’s narration was well done.
