Brilliant

I just wish the story was longer. I highly recommend it. Giles is consistently good, and the narration is excellent.

We need more gritty, medieval horror!

Short but exciting ride, this was. Also based on somewhat historical accuracies, adding even more flavour to the mix.

Medieval horror

Great narration for this short, but fun horror story. I wished it was longer, but oh well

Fantastic Medieval Horror

Fantastic dark imagery and atmosphere. Fans of Dark Souls and Elden Ring will appreciate the style, narrative, and mystery of this work. Truly wish there were more horror novels in this sub-genre of dark fantasy. Well worth your time.

Good Story, Too Short

I enjoyed the story and thought the setting was great, but with only 2 hours and 11 minutes to explore this work, it left me wanting. There was no time/room for character development, and so the whole band of warriors felt like the same guy with different names. It was like playing D&D in 3rd edition where everyone tries to play a fighter...cookie cutter. It just needed more.

Having said that, it was a gorgeous setting. If you are more setting and plot motivated and not as character motivated as me, then you might really love this. Even being character driven, I liked it fine. I just wished there was more of it.

Nice short creepy

At only about two hours this is a short and sweet, creepy paranoid, sacrilegious, and super gory tale.

Hellish Fun

The short story was extremely entertaining from beginning to the last breath. You’re not meant to get to know all the characters for it’s a fever dream of a ride with the protagonist. Don’t over think it. Just grab on and don’t let go!

A new favorite narrator

Amazing narrator, fantastic story. Felt like I was watching a movie. A great October listen!

Absolutely Terrible

This book is completely unrealistic and it is honestly a crime that it is lumped in the same genre with other higher quality Historical Fiction titles. The author seems to be only interested in trying to shoehorn in certain pieces of modern day politically correct ideologies. This completely rips the reader out of the immersion of the story, doubly so for the combat scenes.

The narrator does a decent job at reading the book. Save your money/credits for something else, honestly. This story is just awful.
