About this listen

Months ago, I was homeless and broken, and in search of a dangerous man.

I found the devil’s prototype in a flawless navy suit.

Clay Butcher.

A man twice my age who kills brutally, takes territorially, and hides his emotions deep within layers of smooth control.

He is my father’s enemy and the don of the Cosa Nostra. Evil. Beautiful. Ruthless.

But he’s not the villain of my story.

He spoils me, punishes me, and holds me accountable. So, when the time comes for Clay Butcher to weed out betrayals and take revenge on those who have hurt his family, I will choose him.

I will always choose him.

His Pretty Little Queen needs to be listened to after His Pretty Little Burden, and is part of The Kids of the District series. It has a happily ever after. It features a powerful mafia don and his endearing tortured little heroine.

His Pretty Little Queen has an age-gap dynamic that some people may find uncomfortable. It is an epic love story with spice, violence, gore, and drama. Enjoy.

HOW DOWS EACH BOOK GET PROGRESSIVELY BETTER THAN THE LAST??

Wow oh MAN did I love this book!! Clay is the literal man who has to make some seriously messed up decisions in the 2nd half of his and his little deers story. We picked up from the last book yet got to see them grow individually but as a couple as well.
Some more of the drama that had been culminating since book one was resolved yet more intrigue was introduced leading us to our final Butcher brother. I can’t wait for Zander’s yet don’t want this to end.
We meet with dad in this one and he holds true to what we always knew he was. A woman häting narcissist who felt entitled to using his daughter as a pawn. Of course, Sir (Clay) was not down for that and didn’t want to use her as bait when Dad came a knockin’. SPOILER!!! I didn’t like how Max took Fawn into danger when he literally threatened Zander for the same thing. Hypocrite much?! That literally was all I didn’t like. The steam between these two made me full on blush, hot DANG was it spïcy AND there was an abundance of it, which I ALSO love. This book had it all. From stëam to adventure to heartache…you get it all.
The overall story got moved along more and there are only a few big reveals left. I’m so here for it!!! Shane East was a LITTLE extra in this story to me. He tried a bit too hard. Kinda threw me off but SofiaLette was spot on yet again. I do love this pairing for this series.
All in all another banger that I gobbled up like a thanksgiving turkey 🦃. I’m going to be sad when this ends and bummed no audible book for the last one. That’s okay, I’ll still enjoy it immensely!!!

Round of applause for Shane East

Overall story was good but, a lot of emotional layers to this. Felt like I had a therapy session during certain parts but in the BEST way. Shane! To the principals office neow!! Truly both narrators but on a truly amazing performance and really helped bring the book to life, closed my eyes and I was right there. Amazing, thank you

I still want more!

I resisted listening to His Pretty Little Burden until His Pretty Little Queen teased me into jumping in. I’ve loved having it waiting for me everyday for my listening time. I will miss Clay and his pretty Little Deer. I love how far apart they were, both in age and life experience and how they found a path that brought them together, able to understand and support each other in life and love. Great story!! Shane is the perfect Clay. He can be both the cold-hearted bastard that heads the cosa nostra and then mellow out his voice, without losing its edge, to be Fawn’s sweet lover. He held me captive with his rapid changing emotions. Sofia is a new to me narrator and I’m very impressed. She held her own as a young woman with the strength and confidence to to captivate a mob leader. Great performance by both narrators!

First time reader of Nicci Harris and second time listener to Shane East and I’m not disappointed how well these two narratives sounded together.

Well written and suspenseful with a lot of love and spice.

I loved the devotion that Clay had towards his pretty, little queen. I was also glad to hear that he agreed to marry Fawn. That could have been another book in itself if Aurora had gotten mad and caused trouble for them. This is a great mafia series.

the narrators acting and chemistry

I absolutely love the back and forth with both narrators, o when it's Fawn's POV but Clay is speaking it's his voice. That is my favorite way to listen to a book. their voices were easy to listen to, their acting was amazing and fit the characters so well.

Clay and Fawn's story is one of my favorites. I read it when it was first released and it's one of my reread books because I love this series so much. But listening to it was a whole other experience
