About this listen

FEATURING A NEW FOREWORD WRITTEN AND READ BY NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR COLLEEN HOOVER!

The iconic “raunchy, brash, and suspenseful” (The New York Times) blockbuster novel that started it all—the ultimate insider’s novel—from #1 New York Times bestselling author Jackie Collins.

They’re a privileged breed—glamorous, glossy, and demanding. When life is this fast, there are no guarantees. Status is everything, and you’re only ever as popular as your husband’s latest box-office hit.

Elaine Conti: Bronx girl turned Hollywood hostess, determined to relaunch her husband’s fading acting career back into orbit.

Angel Hudson: Married to a hot young actor and an innocent beauty prey to Hollywood’s most unscrupulous men.

Montana Grey: Gorgeous renegade, ambitiously driven to succeed in the male-dominated world on the other side of the camera.

Hollywood Wives is a scorching blockbuster that exposes the glittering microcosm that is Beverly Hills before racing to a gripping and unexpected climax. Captivating, fun, and deliciously sexy, this classic is its own version of Hollywood magic.

So many twist, turns, ups, & downs! I couldn’t stop listening. So good. Had me sad then laughing and shocked.

Decadent Fun!

This book is 30 years old! It won’t win the Pulitzer, but it will keep you interested! I grew up in Hollywood and it was just pure fun!

Excellent Escape

Wow! This book kept me on the edge of my seat. I needed a trashy beach read, and this did not disappoint. Suspense, murder, mystery, betrayal, sex. It was refreshing to read a novel written before cell phones and computers, where the characters actually had land lines and couldn’t be reached if they weren’t at home or at work. The narrator did a great job. Jackie Collins ability to weave characters and plot lines together is amazing.

Not my favorite by her

I've read TONS of Colleen Hoover books, this was not my favorite. It was good, but had me confusing and trying to remember who was who the entire time I listened. Still good, just not great.

Memorable

I read this story 30 years ago, and I could almost read word for word with Emily Tremaine, who is a great reader btw, that is how memorable this book is.
Strong women, likeable characters, shameless sex, well written and overall a great read/listen.

Really?

It is rare that I abandon a book but that is exactly what I did. I just don’t understand the solid reviews on this? Got halfway through and was just depleted trying to feel any level of connection to the story or characters.
