MIke Kellogg's voice is sensational.

But holy cow, audio publishers... WHY add background music to this!? Inevitably, some people are going to hate the distraction, and more people (like me) are going to hate the quality of the mixing AND be distracted too. A very unfortunate double whammy.

Plus, it's all synthy instrumentation that sounds horrid. At the very least, why not use actual acoustic instruments?

A ridiculously bad production decision that's insulting to the audience who expects a clean and respectful delivery of an amazing translation of the Holy Bible. (The 'musician' was probably a relative of a Tyndale executive.)

And actually, the engineering of the voice track is completely mental throughout: the loudness levels are absolutely all over the place. Check out pretty much any transition from one chapter to the next, and you're likely to go 'woah there!' [For the nerds out there: check out a basic waveform display of the audio signal. Crikey.]

*** Dear Tyndale (and Audible): Please release a PROPERLY engineered 'voice only' version. I'd pay a lot extra for that. Seriously.

But still, this is a great reading.

Voice = AWESOME; Music = DISGUSTING

The main narrator’s performance could not have been better. I haven’t found another audio Bible narrator that compares.
The translation has issues because it really isn’t a translation. It is an interpretation. And I think the interpretation veers far from what the Bible says at certain points.
My biggest complaint with this audio Bible is that there are no chapter headings, which appears to be a common problem with audio Bibles.

Perfect performance. No chapters.

Each track is a different volume. So you are blasted with a loud voice or miss what is said. This happens on every track change. if this happened once or twice I would not care, but every track. This is disappointing, especially when it is so easy to sync the volume in almost any audio software.

Good, besides volume

the music is distracting and annoying. It makes it hard to concentrate on the message.

Good, but ...

The only thing I wish was better was the fluctuations in volume level between chapters. They were drastic.

Great way to study the Bible while driving for work.

I love this dramatized version of the Bible. It’s been challenging for me to listen to the Bible as much as I want but this has made it easy and engaging. 1000% recommend and easily the most well-rounded English version (in my humble opinion).

Obsessed!!

Love that I can take it anywhere. Its broken up by chapter and easy to understand. I like the sound effects and music.

This is great bible on the go!

I have read the Bible and now I have listened to it as well. A account of historical events dating back to roughly 4000 B.C. narrated and told by the people who experienced these events first hand. From Moses to Noah to Abraham to King David to Mathew, Mark, Luke , John, apostle Paul and many others who authored the individual books in the Bible, truly and by far the most compelling book I have ever read. I have found new purpose in life through the will of God which I’ve come to understand through these scriptures. I pray that you too will find the grace of God that lives in the words within as I have.
Jesus Loves you - God Bless you!

The narration is great but the BGM is too loud that I can barely hear the narrator. Also the audio volume is inconsistent, some chapters are loud while others you have to tune it up. Then the next chapter comes and it would blast your eardrum off... Such a shame because I really like this version. Needs better quality control!!!

BGM Too Loud

Mike Kellogg’s voice is as intriguing and as easy to listen to as Morgan Freeman. He does an amazing job with this translation of the Bible. I’ve been listening to it for 20+ years.

Best voice
