Publisher's summary

Neverland is a wondrous isle of adventure.

Neverland is a cruel lie.

Children follow Peter Pan believing their dreams will come true - to never grow up.

Surprise, surprise... They never will. The children Peter Pan abducts are murdered or meet a grimmer fate.

I’m the child who escaped Peter’s treachery. I’ve made it my life’s calling to rescue the Lost Boys, even those who don’t wish to be saved. Now Pan has a schooner he’s using to steal even more children. I’m the only one who can stop him.

Call me Hook. I am the master and commander of a pirate ship, and I’ll have my revenge on Peter Pan if it’s the last thing I do.

Interesting twist on the Peter Pan and Hook story.

Hook in this version is a female counter part to Peter Pan interesting twist. It was enjoyable.

Ok book - annoying narrator.

I liked what the author did with this book. Fun twist on the tale.

The narrator was really annoying to listen to. Her constant inflections at the end of most words and every end of a sentence was really hard to get past. Every sentence sounded the same. I almost gave up early on because it was hard to get into.

Great little story

I love the story spin and the new origins of Hook and the Lost Boys. I also like how Pan is the "bad guy". This is a fun little story that puts a good spin on a classic story. Well done and well performed.

Indeed an amazingly good story.

Oh my goodness what a treat this was. Hook is unlike anything you ever believed. The Narrator brings her to life like right there in your face alive. Everything is nicely read, clean and clear voice. I enjoyed it very much. Indeed an amazingly good story.

A unique take on a classic character

I love this series and the writing style. The take on a female Captain Hook is unique while still holding true to the character. The story makes her human and relatable while also holding onto the fantasy characteristics.

Peter Pan reimagined

I liked the fresh new take on Peter Pan and Captain Hook and all the characters in the story. It slowed down in a few areas, but overall a good read.

A Darling Re-Imagining

There's always two concerns with an audio fairy tale.
Whether the author brings something new to the tale, and whether the narrator keeps up.
Thankfully Melissa goes above and beyond and Natalie follows her lead - rarely have I been as captivated by a tale, and brought from it views that the original is a poor retelling.
Dark without grit, fantasy without misery and well worth anyone's time.

Let Down

This would have been a good book. But missed the bullseye. There was no background to fill in the missing parts. As to why. That would have answered the questions. About the main character's past.
