About this listen

One great series in a single offering!

Beaten, bruised, and shot, Caleb Ledger dives off a burning yacht, desperately trying to cling to life.

It doesn’t work.

Instead of a briny death, Caleb finds himself reborn in the world of Avalon. A place of magic, levels, and quests filled with adventure involving mystery, rescues, dragons, and a revenge-obsessed warlock.

After a rocky arrival, Caleb hunts for a buoyant way to adapt to his new life. With no way to make an honest living upon the sea, there’s an obvious answer: the path of the privateer, the byway of the buccaneer, the skull and crossbones. Armed with a cutlass, pistol, and weather magic, Caleb stands no chance unless he figures out how to level up in a hurry!

Join Caleb's adventure today!

Worth the listen and the credit

Fun story with only mild stat review but at 1.3-1.4 its worth the time. Yes there are a few inconsistencies and things that hurt the book but over all its still good.

Arrr What a Mighty Good Yarn it tis.

This was a great take on LitRpg. I enjoyed all the characters as well as how the Author slowly brought in the MCs past that shaped him in this world. There is a big nod to LoTR Return of the King at the end.

Great Deal

Check This One Out (Pirate Wizard – book 1)

Right up front before you read any further just know that I recommend this book to anybody thinking about giving it a shot. A little context for my review. I tend to take it easy on the first and last book of any series as not every series makes it to “The End” and the first of anything can be a shaky endeavor. I also try to make clear the distinction between the quality of the writing/performance of the author/narrator and my personal tastes should they differ. The story opens up in chaos. The main character appears to be on a yacht that is in the process of being boarded. No idea whose yacht it is and the attackers might be pirates. Our main character comes across a dead DEA agent with the top of her head blown off. He hears and sees a bikini clad lady in the water trying to get to safety. Our main character grabs a hook to fish her out. She reacts in fright when she sees who's trying to help her. Then she relents and lets him help her out. She doesn't speak English but there are others yelling and then shots impact near him before tearing through him. Into the water he goes and next he finds himself the topic of two gods. They're unsure of his kind but give him the chance at reincarnation. He wakes up coming out of the water naked and unsure of exactly what's going on. The gods have taken some of his memories. There is some sort of game like interface, and he starts off trying to complete the first set of missions before being killed. The world appears to be something out of the age of ships complete with flint lock pistols. Awakening again in the water he finds out that he's just lost the first of three lives. Angry and hell bent on getting even he commits his first killing. Now he awakens in a dungeon. It's not all doom and gloom, after all he is some sort of wizard. This is the pace of the first hour of the book and there are still approximately 11 more to go. This is the first book that I have listened to by this author. Checking over on Amazon he appears to have quite a number available. This is also the first time I've come across this narration team, but I was quite taken with their performance. Lastly, I'll just say well done to everybody who had a hand in bringing this story to us, the Audible listeners.

Awesome Sequel (Pirate Wizard 2)

When it comes to a sequel, I am personally looking for everything that made the last book worth it and then some. In my opinion that is this book. I still remember the beginning of the first book with all the chaos that was taking place complete with gods uncertain about our main characters origin or type. How fast we got into the story and the game like system complete with three extra lives they got whittled down pretty quickly. That pace appears to be the same in my opinion for book 2. This is still the only series that I've dug into from this author who was new to me at the time that I came across book 1. The same is true for the narration team who honestly I think did a fantastic job with their performances. The authors got a bunch of other stuff available not only in eBook form but additional audio books as well to check out once you get done with this book. I do like the pirate and magic mix, finding the whole thing very entertaining and as such would recommend this story to anybody reading this review. Lastly, I'll just say well done to everybody who had a hand in bringing this story to us, the Audible listeners.

a boat load of action

Very fast paced story line, not bad read. MC was a bit over powered and extremely lucky

Pirates Pirates Pirates

I love everything about Pirates. I read the first book months ago and thought it was great. Was happy to see an audible for books 1-3. I highly recommend this book and boxset to anyone that likes Pirates and magic. For once, Pirates are the good guys too.

Awesome and thrilling story!

I have received this free copy for an honest review. This is a great experience, it doesn't shy away from some controversial topics which are natural to happen, it is interesting in a way which shows some trauma and how this is dealt with and how a human can try to be as good as possible while trying to survive. It is also just fun to listen. This is an awesome conplete collection of the story which presented our mc challenges and scenarios to prove himself even without the advantage of his companions. It also shows a great personal growth which is very satisfying. Narration is clear and easy to understand and so I definitely recommend it!
