I was absolutely blown away by this one. I could not stop listening till the very end at 6am in the morning. Marie James put some twist and turns into this one. I can’t wait to grab the next one. So happy listening or reading. Which ever you choose.

The day his divorce became final was the day Deacon thought that his ex Dani and everyone connected to her where out of his life for good however eight years later he gets a call from Annalise (Anna), Dani’s best friend, she’s extremely upset as there’s been an incident within Dani’s apartment and someone’s been taken out on a stretcher covered in blood. The news sends Deacon into protective mode, as he sets out to help keep Anna safe as he’s tries to find out what’s going on with his ex.

Dani’s the type that’s always loved being the center of attention, always putting herself first no matter what the cost is to others, Anna’s been happy to stay in the background, all she’s ever wanted was a true friend and she’s only ever saw the best in Dani, that’s until now, she’s beginning to see her for her true colours, and the aren’t very pretty at all. Anna turned to Deacon for help as she knew he’d to anything for his ex wife, she didn’t expect him to protect and keep her safe at all costs, including both their hearts.

This was a fantastic start to what’s set to be another amazing series from the talented Ms James, I was hooked from start to finish, great narrators made the book a joy to listen to.

Man oh man, what a wonderful start!! Anna and Deacon have had a hate/hate relationship for years. He was married to her beastie for years, but that didn't end well. Now, years later, Anna calls Deacon for help and he will do everything in his power to make sure she stays safe. Steamy with a side of suspense. Puff Daddy will have you laughing so hard you cry. Jacob Morgan was fantastic from the start. I had make myself listen to Callie Dalton, but after awhile she grew on me. She really fits Anna to a T.

First of all..Jacob Morgan!!! That man can read the dictionary to me and I would be happy.

I read this book when it first came out but let me tell you, the audio book was fantastic.

Deacon Black, owner of Blackbridge Security, gets a call from the past. His ex-wife's BFF, Anna, calls Deacon for help as she thinks that Dani, the ex, may be dead as there are cops all over Dani's condo and blood everywhere.

Totally binge worthy.

I read the books for this series as they come out. I was captured by the first, HOSTILE TERRORTY, and the audio grabbed me all over again. There is a "dirty bird" I was anxious to hear the narration and was far from disappointed. All of these guys on the team have their own personalities. Deacon Black sounds just as I'd imagined. Great job with the narration.

Deacon lived for his work. He didn't deal with relationships. He had a good team if you ignored their smart mouths, oh, yeah, and their taste in pets, including a dirty-mouthed parrot. All was well until a call from the past changed everything. The BFF of the one woman he'd loved called. Since she fervently disliked Deacon, her call could only mean his ex was in trouble.

A gunshot heard. A trashed apartment with bloodstains. Where was his ex? So begins the effort to find her and protect her friend who could be in danger as well.

Protecting Anna, finding the one woman he never wanted to deal with again, his life turns into much more. The two are enemies with a common cause and chemistry they want to ignore.

I loved the team, Puff Daddy is hysterical. Hopefully, Deacon won't kill him and his mouth for more stories to come. I'm ready. A can't put down read, with action, great characters, and steam.

Couldn't wait for this audio -- it was worth wait.

Let me start off by saying I’m a huge Marie James fan. I was so excited to see she paired up with Jacob Morgan and Callie Dalton for this audiobook!

Deacon was burned by his ex wife. He never thought he would have to deal with her or her best friend ever again. Then everything changes when he gets a call from Anna, telling him his ex wife is missing. Anna didn’t know who else to call. She can’t stand Deacon, but who else will help her find Dani. Opposites attract in this hot and action packed book!
