About this listen

When tragedy strikes, best friends turn to insatiable lovers...but harsh realities may tear them apart.

Harborside Nights is a sexy, hot, and evocatively real contemporary romance series featuring a group of friends who have known one another for years as "summer" friends and come together after college to build their lives. They're tough, edgy, and accepting - most of the time.

Catching Cassidy is told in first-person POV and written in the loving, raw, and emotional voice people have come to love from New York Times best-seller Melissa Foster.

In Catching Cassidy:

Wyatt Armstrong never imagined that instead of celebrating his college graduation, he and his twin sister would be dealing with the death of their parents. Then again, Wyatt had never been one to think past tomorrow. He heads to their summer home in Harborside, Massachusetts, with his best friend, Cassidy Lowell, in tow to deal with his parents' death and to try to figure out his next step.

Six-foot-two, infuriatingly handsome, and flirtatious, Wyatt Armstrong has always been there for Cassidy, helping her pass her classes and fend off unwanted advances, while driving her insane with his one-night stands - but that's what best friends are for, isn't it? Having each other's backs. There was never any doubt she would accompany him to his family's summer home - but she never expected to begin seeing Wyatt as more than a friend. Or has she been ignoring her feelings all along?

It's impossible to ignore the sizzling heat between them as Wyatt and Cassidy get even closer, but Cassidy knows Wyatt's past, and she has a real job to begin in the fall. Wyatt may be a sure thing for the summer, but Cassidy needs more. For the first time in his life, Wyatt is forced to look toward the future if he doesn't want to lose the one woman who's shared his past and owns his heart.

Characters from the Love in Bloom series will appear in the Harborside Nights audiobooks. Wyatt is the cousin of Max Armstrong (Lovers at Heart, the Bradens).

Sexy and Heartwarming!

Melissa is so talented and has written another heartwarming story. Virginia Rose and Teddy Hamilton did a fantastic job narrating it. Wyatt Armstrong and his twin sister Delilah lost their parents right after graduation. They had been friends with Cassidy Lowell since they were children. They walked in on Cassidy's boyfriend, Kyle having sex with another woman. They take her with them to Harborside, Massachusetts to their summer home. Things changed for Wyatt and Cassidy from being just friends too much more. Cassidy had a job waiting for her in New York. All of the friends Cassidy has at Harborside were like family. Will that be the end of their friendship and love? Excitement ahead!

Good Book!!

This first book in this series was a great read. Cassidy and Wyatt's story starts out heartbreaking with the death of his parents right after their college graduation. As their story goes on, Wyatt learns to accept the sudden loss of his parents and his new responsibilities in becoming a business owner with his sister, Cassidy needs to decide if she really wants to pursue the career she went to school for or to find what she really wants to do while coming to terms with her feelings for Wyatt and her disinterested parents. This story was well written and enjoyable to listen to. The narration by Virginia Rose and Teddy Hamilton was well performed. This is the first time that I have listened to this pair of narrators and they made the story come to life well and be a truly enjoyable experience. I would recommend this book to others.

changes in life brings about more than just simple

Changes in one life impacts so many. There was a change in the way the childhood friends saw life now that a major impact have changed their view on life. Melissa Foster delivers a sweet, charming, expected new adult series with interesting characters with good friends and ties that run deep.

Our story centers around more than the couple at hand it has a greater circumference. For this trio navigating life as a new college graduates, a set of twins, a best friend to them both, and have none of them have real direction for life. Wyatt and Delilah Armstrong have their world changed by the death of their parents. Taking care of all the things needed to have situation at home in Connecticut sends them spiraling for some comfort and control in their lives. Choosing to returning to the summer vacation spot put things in motion that may not have taken place at any other time.

Our main focus of this story is Wyatt and Cassidy. Wyatt was your somewhat typical male of college age. He had all the women that he could ever want tossing themselves at his feet. With the death of his parents and the confusing state of his sister and the reality of his feelings for his best friend. Reality hits him and it's time to grow up. The best part of realizing he needs to grow up is the fact that he has returned to Harborside and friends that are willing the help him through it all. Friends to lovers was bound to happen in time of need. But the big question is was it bound to happen in time or did the death of Wyatt's parents push the timeline.

Cassidy had her own issues, mistakes, confusion and more. Poor boyfriends with no moral compass. Parents that rather jet-set than be there for their only daughter. But there are other things that lie behind these events also. What was it about Cassidy that others just found it difficult to fully commit to her and what she needed. He struggle to confront her feelings for her best friend, her choice in careers, her next steps in her own life, and then there was Wyatt.

Virginia Rose and Teddy Hamilton did a perfect job adding depth and clarity to both males and females. There were identities to the characters that were clearly created. I loved there performances.

Good story

Sensitive , intuitive and warm hearted. I enjoyed reading about the dynamics of the transition from best friends to lovers that had Wyatt and Cassidy in quandaries.

Cassidy and Wyatt are so good together.. even when they didn’t know it.

Perfect

Audiobook Review: I love listening to Melissa Foster’s books. Her narrators are chosen to be perfect for the characters and stories. Virginia Rose and Teddy Hamilton have the perfect voices to bring the story to life with the emotions that Melissa Foster writes. I felt myself being pulled into the story with words I was hearing. I was invested in Wyatt and Cassidy’s story and listened at every chance I could.

eBook Review: Oh how I love these characters. They are more young adult than some of the other characters Melissa Foster usually writes about but they are just as wonderful. I felt like these could be my daughter's friends and I wanted them to be happy, safe, and successful.

I loved that Wyatt and Cassidy had been friends for so long, yet they never took their relationship to the next level. They both got jealous when the other was in a relationship but were afraid to lose each other. This goes to show that sometimes best friends make the best boyfriend/girlfriend. While they were both afraid to take that first step, I knew it was going to happen. How can sparks that bright and hot be ignored? But I do love that they talked about what would happen, they discussed if it was worth risking their friendship, and they didn't rush anything.

The other characters in this book were also wonderful. The friendships and relationships were real, fun, and something I look forward to learning more about. Every character is someone I would want to know and someone I want to know more about. This series is going to be amazing. I cannot wait for more.

Swoon

I have only one complaint, the ending could have been just a little more tide up.. it just ended... I know there are two more books in this series but they are about two other couples and I need a better ending to this one. Loved the narration and omg Teddy Hamilton made me swoon and fall in love with Wyatt

The heroine killed it for me

I thought I would enjoy this book, but I couldn't relate to the main characters, particularly the female lead. I did like them at the beginning, but as the book went on, I just couldn't relate to them, specially the heroine. The hero finally gets his act together, but then the heroine goes downhill. It also could have been better if it had not been so repetitive. The protagonists' issues with their respective parents were told time and again. Cassidy, the heroine, trying to make a decision on what she wants to do with her life is excruciating. She contradicts herself over, and over. When she is trying to get the hero to have a relationship with her she goes all out, but after she gets him she doesn't want to take their relationship into consideration when trying to make her decision even though she says he is her soulmate. She is good at doing what she loves, and knows that her life and career were mostly chosen to please her parents, who are absentee parents, but she still wants to take them into consideration while making a decision that would change her life. The things and people she loves versus the things her parents want her to do knowing full well that they were never there for her. In fact, they have always been horrible to her. Yes, they paid for her schooling and that was it, no familiar relationship whatsoever. It all could have been told in less words, and the heroine could haven been written with more backbone specially where her parents were concerned. The end is abrupt.
