About this listen

From the author of the bestselling Seven Sisters series, Lucinda Riley's Hothouse Flower is a moving story of love, heartbreak and, above all, hope.

Read by Stephanie Racine (Daisy Darker)

Georgian mansion Wharton Park was a place of childhood solace for Julia Forrester, spending summers in the Norfolk countryside with her beloved grandfather. So after tragedy strikes, she finds herself seeking comfort at Wharton and the allure of its hothouse, once home to exotic flowers from all corners of the globe but now lying abandoned. There she meets the new owner, the charming and magnetic Kit Crawford, whose own past is shrouded in sadness and mystery.

When Kit finds an old diary, light is finally shed on Wharton Park's past – revealing a century of secrets and heartache, through war-torn Europe and taking them to the vibrant streets of Thailand. Drawn together on this quest, Julia and Kit can but hope to unearth the truth behind the fortunes and failures of the Crawford family . . .

'Thoroughly addictive storytelling with a moving, emotional heart' – Dinah Jefferies, author of The Tea Planter's Wife

Hothouse Flower

I like the families and how they tie together. At one point I missed Elsie was telling the story of each family so I was lost. Listening again I picked up on the book and the flow.

Lucina Riley Does it Again!

Another epic love story that impacts the lives of two generations. I don't know how Lucinda Riley does it. With such detail you travel the world with her, this time to Thailand. I must say that I do not think there has been another Riley book that literally got me so angry with the main character where I was literally cursing him out. This story will break your heart. How love can lead to betrayal. How selfish acts at the expense of others leads you to eventually forgive them as a reader. I love the ending, but it took me through many emotions to forgive the characters and accept the outcome as worth it.

Loved it

I have read many books by this author and love them all. This one was great, and it kept my attention all the way through. There is a part or two that makes you cringe a little; however, she tied it up well in the end. I would definitely recommend to any fan of LR.

Great book!!

I so enjoyed this book as her others. I realize how sick she was there in the end. However it did not effect her writing. Thank you Lucinda for all your beautiful novels. Rest in peace beautiful lady!!!

“Indicated”

Take a shot every time the author uses the word “indicated”, had to be 20+ times..

some weak characters which annoyed me

Lucinda always has a magical way about weaving the past into the future and I really enjoyed the story but I found some of the characters weak and annoying which did spoil the story for me.

Best performance ever!

Of all my favorite audiobook performers, this performer is the absolute best! Love the natural conversational way that she performs every character… Great story, and an even greater performance!
