About this listen

The Seven Sisters is the story that began it all. An epic tale of love and loss, it tells the stories of the D’Aplièse sisters, all adopted as babies by the enigmatic billionaire they affectionately call Pa Salt.

Read by Tuppence Middleton (
Thirty Days in Paris, The Doll Factory).

This is Maia’s story. When Pa Salt dies suddenly, the bereaved sisters gather together at their childhood home, a spectacular secluded castle on the shores of Lake Geneva. Each of them is handed a tantalising clue to their heritage and Maia finds herself on a journey across the world to a crumbling mansion in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Eighty years earlier, Izabela Bonifacio’s father has aspirations for her to marry into the aristocracy. But Izabela longs for adventure, and convinces him to allow her to first travel to Paris. In the heady, vibrant streets of the city, Izabela meets an ambitious young sculptor, and knows at once that her life will never be the same again.

What links these two young women? In the beautiful city of Rio, will Maia find the answers she needs to understand who she truly is?

The Seven Sisters is the first book in the spellbinding Seven Sisters series, inspired by the mythology of the famous star constellation. It is followed by The Storm Sister.

Beautiful story of the perfect imperfection that is life. This story reinforces that it takes more than blood to make a family

I was hooked and wanted to listen to the next chapter every time. The start was a little disjointed but still engaging and enjoyable. I hope the next in the series is the same!

Great original story

I can’t say enough about how great this and every book in this series was! I was pulled into every story, every characters life, and everything was so well connected. It was difficult at times to switch from story to story within each book because I didn’t want to leave the story I was in, but I’d get pulled right back into the next story, and then the stories connect perfectly and every question gets answered. I would highly recommend this whole series! They are all so sweet and endearing and the last one Atlas, was the best of all.

I loved this entire series!

First and only book I’ve listened to through to the end. I really Loved it.

Gripping

Expecting to hear the story of one adopted sister, I was so surprised when the tale took me through the story of the biological great grandmother. So many chapters were devoted to this ancestor’s story and skimmed over the story of her mother and family at home.
Even so, the tale was a good one and will inspire you to want to see the countries it reached. But it does leave you with many questions that should be answered in a sequel.
