Publisher's summary

Do you want to learn how to read, analyze and influence other people?

The truth is...our bodies say many things about us, before we even speak a word. By looking at somebody’s facial expressions, hand gestures, and body language you can understand his feelings, the motives behind his actions, and sometimes even his thoughts. If you want to learn how to read people, understand their behavior, and influence them, this is the book for you.

In this book, you’ll learn how to analyze people on the spot using science-based techniques. You’ll learn the meanings of expressions and microexpressions, hand movements, verbal and non-verbal clues, leg movements, personality types, and human behavior in general. The problem with books on this subject is that they will only talk about the theory, but will never show you how to actually apply what you’re learning. This book is different. After all the techniques to read people like a pro, you’ll also find examples of how to analyze people in real life scenarios.

Inside How to Analyze People, discover:

  • Science based techniques to analyze people and understand their motives, thoughts, and emotions.
  • 12 FBI style strategies for instantly reading people without them knowing what you’re doing.
  • The 13 most common hand movements you can study to understand thoughts, feelings, and emotions.
  • 27 psychology based tips to spot a liar (that actually work).
  • A step-by-step process to determine a person’s personality type by asking yourself a set of questions.
  • Practical examples of how to read people in real life scenarios.
  • The number 1 indicator you should analyze to read and understand emotions without letting anybody know that you’re doing it.

This book will give you all the tools you need to read people and better understand their motives, thoughts, and emotions.

How to analyze people

I am rubbish at reading people so when I saw this I had to give it go. I actually found some of the things mentioned really interesting and I didn't realise that I did some of the things myself.
However this is not a story so I listened to it a little at time which meant I retained the information given. This would be better in text so you can go back to certain chapters whenever you wanted to.
I would highly recommend this book.

Great Practical Guide!

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

For someone like me who finds it hard to navigate social cues, this book has been a great help. The explanation and examples was clear for me to follow on what to look for. However, due to innate complexity of human behaviour, I learned that there is no one golden rule. One has to consider context, culture, baseline behaviour before making any conclusion. Though it’s not going to solve all my problems, it’s given me tools to use for social occasions. e.g. cues when someone is bored, or uncomfortable with the topic.

I think this audiobook would be great in a video format, so we can see the facial expressions being described.

Overall, I find this audiobook helpful and practical, and clear. I would listen again, and practice reading facial expressions and body language.

Interesting As A Text

I have been familiar with much of this information for years. This book added to my knowledge and understanding. I do believe that this book would be a very good textbook on methodology as well as a basic understanding of how and why we all express ourselves non-verbally. It certainly added to my knowledge base. I did find the book a little hard to listen to after prolonged time periods. Since it was more textbook, although interesting, I needed to set it aside and come back to it later. The narration was probably more suited for a video presentation. It was quite good. I received this book free for an open and honest review.

Nothing I didn't already know

Maybe I'm just a natural, but I didn't learn anything. This seems like pure common sense. I suppose for someone who really doesn't have a clue it could be useful.
