About this listen
Imagine knowing how to decode the secret messages of the human mind...having the power to influence and persuade people to your business advantage...what would that be worth to you?
Wouldn't it be nice to know what people were really thinking? Imagine how helpful it would be to have a human lie detection tool in your hands! Well, now you do - this body language book!
Since ancient times, we have used our body language to communicate, conveying our emotions and thoughts to those around us. Each person out there has a different body language, encompassing not only facial expressions but also body postures and gestures. Even eye movement is considered as part of the non-verbal communication, being closely followed by touch and using one’s personal space.
There is really no way around it: The most successful, influential individuals are masters not only of the spoken word but of body language. They use nonverbal skills of their own - but also a bang-on interpretation of yours - to get things done by persuading you to seek them out, hear them out, do things for or with them and buy their gizmos. They are influential because they give you what you need in the way your own body language says you need it. They get along with most everyone since they read you correctly and adapt to you (rather than demanding the reverse).
Most people use expressions through their physical behaviors that send out flags as to what they are truly thinking and feeling. When you learn to recognize these clues, cues and flags, you’ll be that much closer to getting the full picture of what he or she is really communicating.

Story
It only takes about seven seconds for the look on their faces to determine someone's mood. Body language is considered louder than talking directly. Your ultimate aim in relationships should be to be able to communicate appropriately. If your partner doesn't understand how you feel, not expressing yourself rightly can cause a lot of problems. Human beings must be able to express reasoning, solutions, and conclusions in ways that the listener is interested in or otherwise have no meaning.

Story
Among the important problems with the advancement of language is dependability. How did human beings end up with a language? In other words, language and rituals co-evolved together. People could now use body language along with spoken signals to communicate with each other. In addition, this was also the very first time they might state something verbally and something else non-verbally. To neutralize the devastating impact of lies on group cohesion, human beings developed routines and religion.

This has been an awesome read. I saw this book in Barnes & Noble but I decided to buy the Kindle version so I could read it on the go and in the dark. The information given and stories cited as examples are all helpful and I've been using the techniques described daily. People respond to me in a more positive manner and I really enjoy that.

If you were paying attention you would know this
Beyond useful in all walks of life. The only warning I have for people, beware the literal power this book possesses. If you listen it a section at a time and then look for that item, you will start to see how much people actually lie in general conversation.

Very useful book for professional life!!!!!
A great book... I enjoyed this book. This book does a good job of the topic and one can actually start reading anyone very quickly. Just imagine if you know what the person is up to just in few minutes and then decide how to approach that person. This book does that exactly

Great book for men or women.
.I do leadership development and being able to read body language and project a strong image is very important. This book is well written, organized and deep enough. It's my 4th body language book and I give a copy to every leader I work with now!

This book is a fantastic read with very insightful messages. It helped me gain a better understanding of how to engage and interact with others when I am negotiating anything. It is amazing how much of a role negotiations play in your everyday life, and Richard Pellet help you to navigate the waters very well. Once you have read this book, you will feel like you are truly an expert in negotiating.

Secret of body language.
There's a fine line between confident body language and "negative" body language (aggressive, having the opposite of intended effect), and this book gives helpful insights to both sides as well as practice exercises designed to improve interpretation of body language. In short, body language is an additional channel of communication that we overlook at our own peril.

Exellent reference!!!
Wonderful easy read that calls attention to the countless signals people share about what they think and feel. So often we get focused on what we want to say as well as what the other person verbally says, and ignore all that is communicated non verbally. This book allows those new to reading body language signals a quick start guide to a high level of effectiveness.
