About this listen

Crude. Arrogant. A--hole.

No doubt about it, Sebastian "Oz" Osborne is the university's most celebrated student athlete - and possibly the biggest douchebag. A walking, talking cliché, he has a filthy mouth, a fantastic body, and doesn't give a sh-t about what you or anyone else thinks.

Smart. Classy. Conservative.

Make no mistake, Jameson Clarke may be the university's most diligent student - but she is no prude. Spending most of her time in the hallowed halls of the library, James is wary of pervs, jocks, and douchebags - and Oz Osborne is all three.

She's smart, sarcastic - and not what he expected....

Every douchebag has his weakness.

He wants to be friends. He wants to spend time with her. He wants to drive her crazy.

He wants...her.

Muffy Newton has the perfect name for her voice...

This story is amusing, but the female narrator is obnoxious. Can someone PLEASE tell her to stop talking like everything needs to be snapped out and over enunciated.

Hilarious!

OMG! How have I neglected to read this series before now? This is my first Sara Ney read/listen and it most definitely will not be my last.
I got a big kick out of the "lines" at the beginning of the chapters. There were many laughs throughout the entire book.
Josh Goodman and Muffy Newton did an excellent job narrating. They really brought all the characters to life.
I loved the low-drama of the story and most of the characters. I'm curious to listen to Zeke's story now.

Not for the Easily Offended

I'd describe this book as a romantic comedy. An offensive romantic comedy. But I didn't expect otherwise considering the series title: How to Date a Douchebag.

Sebastian ‘Oz’ Osborne is referred to not only in this book, but also the next (The Failing Hours) as a pervert. I think that's relatively apt. He is crude and has three focuses: wrestling, school, and getting into the pants of one Jameson Clarke. He wouldn't have given her a second thought, sitting there in her cardigan and pearls, had his friends not bet him to get her to kiss him in the library one day. Even then, he assumed she was boring and chaste and pretty much not at all his type. He quickly learns that she's nothing like he expected. After they share an amazing kiss, he's hooked. She's his new conquest.

James is a smarta** that wants nothing to do with Oz. He's exactly the kind of guy she stays away from, arrogant, rude, and a complete jerk. So when he develops a sudden interest in her following their library kiss, she is extremely skeptical about his motives. Actually, she knows what he wants: sex. As he begins essentially following her around and she is forced to spend time with him, she starts to wonder if there could be anything more. Until Oz does something monumentally stupid and messes it all up.

If you enjoy a crude sense of humor and smarta** remarks, this is definitely the book for you. I am not easily offended, so I was able to listen to the things Oz says (and thinks) without cringing too often and even then not too much. That being said, when it comes to James, he has sex on the mind. Always. He is absolutely a complete douchebag and it shows throughout the book. At the beginning of each chapter there is a quote of some kind (almost always sexual). I found these really entertaining, but it didn't seem that they always corresponded well with the content the chapter. Regardless, they were a fun addition to the book. The book does feature a HEA ending and could be read as a standalone if so desired.

I listened to the Audible version of the book and very much enjoyed the narration by Josh Goodman and Muffy Newtown. The sections from James' perspective are read by Muffy and those from Oz's perspective by Josh. The do a great job of reflecting the emotions of the characters. They also are fantastic at sex noises. With their narration, I was absolutely sucked into the story.

Great Story - but Audio Would be Better in Duet

I really enjoyed this story and audiobook. This was my first experience with Sara Ney, and I already like Josh Goodman and Muffy Newtown as narrators. They are great and always a pleasure to listen to. However, the female POV was only narrated from time to time and the male narrator had to use his voice for the majority of the audiobook to perform the female characters. This book would be totally Awesome and so much better if they re-recorded it in DUET STYLE!! But that's just my little opinion. Still worth the money <3

DON'T LET THE TITLE TURN YOU AWAY FROM THIS ONE!!!

I wondered if this book would be a good listen just by the title. But wow this book was so much fun, I laughed out loud so many times! He really is a douchebag, but you still can't help but fall for him. Then there was the sexy parts that had the room I was sitting in feeling like the temperature went up several degrees. This book is well worth the listen! Enjoy!

Liked the humor

Another book I kept over looking and now that I've listened to it I am wondering why I hadn't listened to it sooner. I really enjoyed it. The narrators were really good. And now I am listening to the others. Worth the credit.
