My emotional eating got really bad after COVID. I used to reach for snacks whenever work got overwhelming or life felt chaotic so I desperately needed practical help.
The 7 step approach actually makes sense. I read a lot about ditching diet mentality and making peace with food, but this book made it easy to understand and apply.
I especially loved the mindful eating techniques and the emphasis on celebrating small wins. The emotional awareness exercises helped me recognize my triggers before they controlled my choices.

For years, I used food to numb out but couldn’t really explain why. This gave me the clarity I didn’t know I needed. The steps are simple but meaningful—nothing gimmicky or extreme. I really resonated with the part about filling emotional voids with food instead of facing what I’m really feeling. The section on mindful eating helped me slow down, and that alone cut my snacking by half. I’m not ‘cured’ or anything, but I feel more in control and a little more forgiving of myself. That’s progress.

The 7-step method felt manageable, and the practical tips made it easier for me to change old habits without feeling overwhelmed. I appreciated how it focused on self-acceptance and healing rather than strict dieting, which made the process feel a lot more doable and kind.

Finished this during a week when I was definitely stress-snacking, and honestly, it hit home in the best way. It doesn’t shame you or throw diets at you—instead, it walks you through why you emotionally eat and how to actually deal with it. The steps are realistic and kind of eye-opening (especially around the emotional triggers part). The narrator felt more like a supportive coach than someone lecturing. If food is your go-to comfort and you’re tired of that cycle, this is totally worth a listen.

Now, I have a plan in place to create better habits with really good strategies to handle my emotions so that I can say no to unhealthy coping eating habits. Valuable information.

This book was well presented, and I really appreciated how this book looked at the personal emotions and how it it affects the the cravings to eat. The steps are simple to understand and my favorite part was making peace with food. While this book does deal with diet and exercise. It is more focused is how you can become mentally stronger and more secure with yourself and your relationship with food. Highly recommend for anyone struggling with emotional eating!

I didn’t realize how much of my eating was tied to stress and emotions until this laid it all out so clearly. What I appreciated most is that it didn’t shame me. It felt like a supportive conversation rather than a lecture. I started implementing some of the practices right away, like journaling before eating and identifying emotional triggers, and it made a difference. It’s not about perfection—it’s about becoming more aware and giving yourself grace. That shift alone helped me stop spiraling. Definitely more about emotional healing than strict dieting, which is exactly what I needed.
