I confess that I am one of those seniors who pictured yoga being the pretzel experience where I would be expected to put my foot behind my head….that wasn’t happening! So I avoided yoga like a disease. I was wrong! After first reading this book, I realized that I truly needed to read it again to reverse the script playing over and over in my mind”You can’t do this!” I was thrilled to hear it is now available on Audible! I literally sat in my easy chair and let the words of this book soak into my mind. I love how chair yoga can be tailored according to my ability. That is good news for seniors who have had knee replacement, for example. This exercise is easy on my joints and quite doable! I also love the focus of movement to reduce stress—much needed! I cannot think of anyone, any age that could not benefit from listening to this over and over again. Now it’s time to put the chair to work!

I'm a yoga enthusiast and I'm about to have a surgery that will make it necessary for me to alter my workouts for several weeks post-op. So I was excited to find this book about chair yoga and it did not disappoint. The author starts with foundations and mindfulness and progresses into poses that will stimulate weight loss. These exercises are followed by instruction on nutrition and further exercises to round out the practice. I think this chair yoga option will help me maintain my fitness level during my recovery period and may also be something I want to continue for at-home practice in the future.
