Publisher's summary

Bitterness often grows out of a small offense: perhaps a passing word, an accidental shove, or a pair of dirty socks left in the middle of the living room floor. Yet when bitterness takes root in our hearts, its effects are anything but small.

In this collection of short articles, Jim Wilson and others discuss what it means to live as "imitators of God." As the Apostle Paul says in Ephesians, "We have been called to leave the bitterness and anger of the world and instead embrace the love and compassion of our God". The authors remind us that we are to forgive others just as we have been forgiven, pointing to Scriptural admonitions and examples as they offer sound teaching on the trials and temptations of everyday life.

Let it go!

Freedom in Jesus for all your bitterness but in the most easily applicable way. I’ll be revisiting this over and over as I continue to discover my sin and bitterness in my heart. This is for ANYONE who wants to live without hardness in your heart.

Amazing! Life changing!

The author reveals simple truths that Christians need to hear and then act on. I was able to listen to the whole book while I mowed the lawn.

Priceless Pastoral wisdom for every Christian.

Bitterness has impacted the lives and relationships of every person faced with the need to offer forgiveness. And, the profound need for fellow sinners to understand the depth of what forgiveness is, makes bitterness the bane of many a Christian's affections. This short book is purely Pastoral wisdom in a call to repent, and practical wisdom in forsaking bitterness and unforgiveness. Pastor Jim Wilson touches on specific relationships as well as indicators that this spiritual malady may be at work in your life. Ben Zornes is always an excellent narrator. I've read it twice in the last 10 hours, and I can't wait to read it again with my wife. This is becoming quite typical of Canon Press books, for me.

Biblically sound and very practical.

I have found this book to be very practical as it flushes out (what can sometimes seem like) theoretical commands of the Bible. I think the majority of people who are Christians have this issue to wrestle with and would do well to turn from this sin that so easily entangles us. I wonder what would happen if most professional Christians would get rid of their bitterness and unforgiveness? I know listening to this book would be a first step to that end.
